Bummer. Pancreatic cancer is essentially a death sentence.
My friend’s mother in law is a retired oncologist who read the headline yesterday and said to him, “he’s got two to four months”.
Not to belittle a sick man, one bit, but all these comments of him being “highly intelligent” are kind of . Maybe he is, in fact I’m sure he is, but it’s easy to come across as a know it all and smug when you have the answers right in front of you.
That said, be well, Mr. Trebek.
Yep, pretty much what said before. He has the freaking answers right in front of him yet he has this way of making the contestants that get it wrong like “sorry, *******”.
Someone will replace him for sure. Maybe it’s hard to imagine, but it will happen.
I don’t mean to be a downer, but he’s a goner. Having a good attitude is a good thing, though.
I've never watched Holzhauer on "Jeopardy". I don't intend to start either. As I said, I nothing against him. I frankly don't like the show that much and Trebek comes across as arrogant.

I'm going to miss James as I was hoping he would break Ken's record winnings.
Hymie the Robot said:
Any chance they could fight it out one day?
I'm sure they will. Whether Trebek will be around at that point is an open question, though.

Apparently he’s on the mend.
Uh, no he isn’t. He just got some relatively positive news. He’s far from on the mend.
Holzhauer and Jennings will go head to head someday but Trebek won’t be around to see it.

Deadwood: The Movie thread
I really like Molly Parker as an actress but she was definitely underutilized here. Her return didn’t even make that much sense as she was a wealthy woman from NYC. I get why she was there, but she didn’t have much of a role to play. She looked really old, too.
