After getting his ass handed to him: Dumb as a post. Johnny99 with the Nebraska avatar needs to be pulled aside by a highway patrolman and have his skull blown apart by a state trooper. Yes I saw his post. Complains about an album recorded in a bedroom but has a Nebraska avatar. Dumb fuck.

my rant: bottom line on this whole vinyl/CD fiasco is money, and nothing else. they can jack up the price on the entire project by putting it all together "look, you are getting ALL THIS for you money. with complete disregard for how the consumer feels about it. they do not have to manufacture a record sleeve, separate liner notes, or album cover. and they will put the CD's in slots that will save them money on digipaks for each individual CD. no individual booklets for each CD. one booklet will cover it all. no individual packaging (a record in shrink wrap and 4 CD's in a cardboard package of some kind) for each product either. saving on cost it's win win win for the record company and lose lose lose for the consumer. and don't say people want both, outside here and IMWAN and discogs and any other collector site, no one gives a **** about having a vinyl record and a CD of the same thing. no one, anywhere. rant over.....now go ahead and beat me up. :shtiphat: there were quite a few alternate versions on the CSN box set. when all is said and done it will be interesting to see just how many things on things on this grossly overpriced set have ACTUALLY never been heard before.......i am guessing, not to many. question: (+ food for thought) what is the AVERAGE price for a nice 4 CD box set, that includes a book(let) by a major band? subtract that from $100 and figure out what they are charging for 1 LP......... kind of sickening, and horribly greedy, when you look at it that way, isn't it? i truly believe that they could have easily gotten as much as $75 (retail) for the 4CD set and a book(let). and, yes, that would have been a bit high but the majority of CSNY fans would have gladly paid it. and for what its worth: those going to trade in the vinyl: if it is not sealed in shrink wrap, good luck getting anything more than $10 for it., and $10 would be high for a "used" LP. cause without shrink wrap, it is going to be re-sold by the store as 'used'. this is a situation that is obviously very misunderstood by you. there really is no "i hate vinyl" crowd. there is a "i don't listen to vinyl, nor do i even own a turntable" crowd. and it is this crowd that is bitching about the inclusion of a vinyl record in a product that they would very much love to own, but are simply refusing to pay for. it is, in all reality, something, not that they 'hate', but that is actually totally USELESS to them and that they do not want and are truly being forced to buy. does that make it easier to understand? for those who are not buying the CD/LP package because of the inclusion of the vinyl, i strongly suggest that all of us write a quick note to rhino and express your feelings and your decision not to buy this package strictly based on the inclusion of the vinyl. it quite easy to do, and maybe, if enough of us are heard, they just might listen. it might takes you all of 5 minutes. Contact Usif everyone here who feels this way writes to rhino and expresses the fact that they are not buying this, they might just realize how much money they are going to lose by including the vinyl. like you said, it surely doesn't hurt to try. if just 20 people do this, that is $2000 they will know they are not getting....50 people would be $5000. let's be brutally honest here. if the LP is in shrink wrap, how much will you get for it in a trade or even in cash" best possible case scenario: $10 - $20 max. but there will be ton of them out there, law of supply and demand. if the LP in not in shrink wrap you are, for all intents and purposes, selling a 'used" LP, how much do you get for that? $2 - $5 max. and, if the package were just $CD's an no vinyl, what would the price point be? worst cast scenario - $75 (and i think i am very high on that guess) so the vinyl is adding at the very least $25, if not more to the cost. **** rhino. bottom line, it just should not be in the package, it is ridiculous. does the new vinyl even come with a jacket, or is it in a sleeve in the package so it can't be re-sold? rhino screwed us by putting the vinyl in in the first place, why not twist the knife a little more and not include a cover so you are forever stuck with it and unable to ever use it....unless of course you buy a turntable to play the one vinyl record you own. my bad, i was not clear in my statement.......i said they would pay you $2 - $5 for the LP, i've no idea what they would sell it for, but i know they pay $1 - $2 for used CD's and sell them for $8 - $1o so i must assume the mark-up would be around the same: 4x to 5x what they pay.

I have a soft spot for Deja Vu, but I’m going to avoid all of this drama by downloading it for free when it pops up on the usual places.

rjp's pivot from "why won't they release the damn thing?" to "vinyl means no sale" cracks me up. And his whole "other than atHoofy's, IMYAWN and Discogs, no one cares about vinyl" could easily go double for CSNY.

The contract works like how it does with their drugs.
In one bag of cocaine, Stills gets 10 lines, Nash gets 6, Young gets 3 and Crosby is freebasing in the corner.

Song sucks, but rhyming "comic" and "chronic" is cool. Sure could use a chorus though.
