*poof*
razerx sixtiesstereo posted a link about how everybody in the 60s and 70s was crying about the environment, and yet everything is still ok despite their dire predictions. Conveniently ignoring that the EPA was founded in the early 70s and definitely had an effect in staving off ecological calamity.
vaughan once again finds himself beating his head against the [brick]wall. dalem5467 vaughan's response:
I saw the video, and didn't see Trump even once. fastnbulbous Using an autistic kid as a prop for a political agenda is pretty sick. But beating her up in a forum is hunky-dory
thetman posts some 70s magazine covers with dire predictions about ecological disaster (that ended up not being accurate - maybe because government policy changed to prevent said disaster?)
sixtiesstereo comes out as a denier He then attempts to support his position by linking to a Wikipedia article about climate change deniers. An article that contains the quote "This is a list of scientists who have made statements that conflict with the scientific consensus on global warming as summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and endorsed by other scientific bodies. A minority are climatologists. Nearly all publishing climate scientists (97–98%) support the consensus on anthropogenic climate change."
jozefk (who resides in "Dixie" of all places) daniel plainview is sorry cheepnik (don't worry, cheepnik. Most of them don't even have girlfriends)

Everything was okay until the Beatles broke up in 1970.

The problem with people like her who think that perpetual economic growth is evil is that they fundamentally misunderstand economics. Economic growth leads to advancements in technology and productivity, both of which eventually lead to lower emissions per capita while increasing everyone’s standard of living. Not to mention that a wealthier society is inherently in a much better position to pay for a cleaner environment. In fact, wealthier countries demand a cleaner environment on average.
A wealthier society also leads to better education, which means your population is less likely to vote for politicians who will make climate change worse, or live a lifestyle that is horrible for the environment (like having more than 2 biological kids).

I missed where she said growth was evil, she said promises of unlimited future growth were lies, which, of course, they are.

When "evil" shows up in a paraphrase, it's usually a big tell.

You say that like you believe it. I’m sure you’ll have no problem explaining why I shouldn’t I missed where she said growth was evil, she said promises of unlimited future growth were lies, which, of course, they are. I never said she said growth is evil. I also missed where she said someone is promising unlimited future growth.

So, a retooled Chamber of Commerce puff piece from 1954.
