Adult humans are outraged by Billie Eilish, a child, because she’s not familiar with Van Halen. Van Halen, in case you’re playing the home game, peaked 20 years before Billie Eilish was born, had their last hit single six years before she was born, and has released exactly one studio album in her lifetime.
If there was ever a case for “okay, boomer,” this is it.
It’s trending on Twitter. I’m sure there are SHite posts about it, but I can’t be bothered to find any.
SHiTE's still think Tom Petty and The Cars are "new" bands.
I've never knowingly heard Billie Eilish's music, but that's because I don't listen to the radio and I just haven't caught her on something like SNL. I know who she is, though. She's got a huge hit or two and she's in the news because old perverts (like SHiTE's) seem to think that because she's an entertainer they get to demand she show them some skin even though she's still a child. I hope she becomes huge like Taylor Swift and dominates a decade or so. It won't change my life at all if she fades away or becomes huge, but if it works those guys up, I'm all for it.
You are arguing with a phantom and mired in incoherewnce.
Now that the reactions have erupted into fever pitch, 28-year-old bassist Wolfgang Van Halen — one of three Van Halens in the band and the son of guitar hero Eddie — weighed in as the voice of reason on the whole thing. “If you haven’t heard of Billie Eilish, go check her out. She’s cool,” he tweeted. “If you haven’t heard of Van Halen, go check them out. They’re cool, too. Music is supposed to bring us together, not divide us. Listen to what you want and don’t shame others for not knowing what you like.”
"The king is gone but he's not forgotten. This is the story of Stevie Hoffman"
