How has that stupid thread not gotten gorted for being “a negative thread”? Anyway, it seems like a bunch of people are getting sick of Sear’s shit:

The threads he responds to are a different story.
There’s a bunch of poats by RalphB in that thread that I didn’t bother quoting but they do remind you he’s the most valuable member of that place.
JayB
Respectfully disagree.
Same could be said for some Bowie albums.

Freedom Rider
To me it's one of those records where the whole is bigger than the sum of the parts.
Lots of cool stuff going on in that album.

...and that somebody clearly doesn’t understand music.
Well I'll say it:
46 songs and the 90% is "chaff". Subpar songwriting.
Somebody must say it

Thank you! Feel better now? Tomorrow please give us your opinion on "Zen Arcade"!
Sear
I love Zen Arcade. Except the last "song"
Sear

These are big words for such slight album.
It's ok if you guys like it, but to me, songs like "Themselves", "My heart and the real world", "No exchange", "Please don't be gentle with me", "Nature without men" , "Vietnam"and others are subpar or poor songs.
This album was a big disappointment to me
Sheer madness. One of the best records of all time.

Why do you think they are sub par?
“Cuz I dont like ‘em” doesnt make for a very interesting or insightful thread.
fwiw, I think Ive listened to them once and didnt care for them, but Im not the one starting the thread either.

You are entitled to your opinion.
But you might want to reconsider this one.

Oh Sear doesn’t like another great album? enough said.
Spotmaticfanatic
If you want to say absolutely ridicilous things to try and provoke a response, sure.
Sear
Man, Ive got the right to have my own opinion and to think by myself
Sure. Not seeing the value of always doing that out loud, particularly since you've offered no critical insight, just a provocative statement.
Neonbeam (emphasis his)
Of course you can have an opinion but if you thought for only a second you might get that "Double Nickles" is a seminal and acclaimed album. Still you don't need to like it. But you could at least acknowledge that. Instead of continuously trying to make a point that by now only you can see. What's the point of this thread anyway? Showing everybody how clever and individual you are? Seriously it's getting boring.....
misteranderson
Let's all start threads about albums we don't like, or artists we don't like. Wheeeee! What fun.
Total waste of time.
Total waste of time.
Gonz
It reminds me of skateboarding and youthfulness. Love it, but don’t listen to it very often. I don’t imagine anyone being impressed with it today, nostalgia is strong with this one.
Sear
Nostalgia and coolness factor
NaturalD
Yes, we all listen to the Minutemen so we can look cool to the other over-50s who are impressed.
Sear (responding to spotmaticfanatic)
I'm giving reasonings.
And the huge majority of threads I open are about things I like
But this album is an outrageous case of overratism
