Prince: 1999 Super Deluxe box 5CD/1DVD or 10LP/1DVD [11/29/19]
My personal recommendation would be to go for the Super Deluxe set, since it would be a very similar cost compared to if you bought the 2 CD and the rest of the material digitally anyways - plus the packaging is superb
The boxed set contains three music CDs with what I have including a third CD with vault tracks. I do not have that. It also had DVDs which I am not interested in. That third music downloadable volume is the equivalent of the third CD contained in the box.
The downloadable versions mimic the physical sets. I can download the contents of the third CD in the box without having to buy the physical box.
This way, I can get all the music without having to buy the box with the DVDs that I do not want. Since I rip my CDs to FLAC anyway, I can combine them into one set and archive them together. This way I also save some money.
If there is a set with only the three music CDs, I have not seen it.
Those of you who only buy/collect physical product may not understand this strategy. And, before some malcontent mentions it, no, I am not interested in streaming anything. That is not permanent ownership.

I debated getting the box but ultimately decided that I don't need the DVDs. So, to save money and get what I want, I decided to buy the 2-CD set, and download the third music "disc" from Qobuz or 7-digital and be done with it.Joker to the thief said:
There’s 3 discs of music beyond the 2-cd set and dvd so you might be best going for the deluxe if you want all the vault tracks/live show.Grant said:
Please re-read my post. The downloaded third disc makes up for the third CD.Popmartijn said:
But what do you then mean with the 'third music disc'? Do you mean half of the vault tracks? Or do you consider the 2 CDs of vault tracks as 1 download disc? Because the 2CD package has the album and the disc with B-sides and edits. All the vault stuff is on the Super Deluxe Edition.Joker to the thief said:
I did read your post there are three discs of music that are not on the 2-cd collection - 5 in total - plus a dvd, two discs of vault tracks and one of live show.Grant said:
Well, the vault disc, then.Grant said:
The vault disc is downloadable. I probably didn't use the correct words, hence the confusion.croquetlawns said:
I presume you meant 'discs' - there are two cds of vault tracks, 24 vault tracks in total.HotelYorba101 said:
To try and clear it up - I think that the main confusion is that there are two disks worth of Vault content as opposed to one - Disks 3 & 4 of the Vault content as opposed to just Disk 3My personal recommendation would be to go for the Super Deluxe set, since it would be a very similar cost compared to if you bought the 2 CD and the rest of the material digitally anyways - plus the packaging is superb

Not to belabor this point, but if you download the vault tracks from from Qoboz, it'll cost you $36 (CD quality) or $48 (hi-res), and if you're ALSO buying the 2-CD version, you might as well buy the Super Deluxe and save money!Grant said:
OK. Unless I missed something, the 2-CD set has a second disc of extras like single edits. I have that now.The boxed set contains three music CDs with what I have including a third CD with vault tracks. I do not have that. It also had DVDs which I am not interested in.
