Thanks for sharing my review! Hopefully I can save up for a 2nd copy fast enough before you all devour them!
AnalogJ:
Nice review.
But why would you need a second copy??
But why would you need a second copy??
trumpetplayer:
Because he wants one to do whatever he pleases to do with. Maybe he will flip it. Which is what I’m going to do with my second copy.
JumpingBean:
Because my family has a nice hifi at their house and I want to keep a copy there for when I visit. Also its nice to have a backup copy of a record you love, especially when it's going to be unobtanium in a year.
Tullman:
Right. Some people may want to keep it. Remember, some of us are collectors as well as audio/music enthusiasts. Personally I don't mind if someone sells their second copy, I just don't want to see anyone bragging about how much money they took someone for.
MFSL is pressing plenty of copies and there will be enough for anyone who is really interested in purchasing within the next few months. There are plenty of reviews out there for those on the fence.

Why are you answering for him? I didn't ask you.
John D:
Well, he is the thread starter.
MYKE:
No, @trumpetplayer is not the thread starter. You're mistaking @tullman 's post as the person @analogj is addressing.
AnalogJ:
I like the sharing the copy bit. That's nice.
On the other hand, records when well cared for and played on good equipment, last for many thousands of plays. A single copy will outlast any one of us.

That's also your outlook on things. Others may feel better with the insurance a second copy ( bought at retail let's not forget) can bring them, as accidents can and do happen.
I've learned I like having an unopened coffee maker on standby, so when the current one dies, I'm not forced to go shopping right out of bed, with no coffee in my system yet. Been there, done that.

AnalogJ:
It is, but my version will allow it to be in the marketplace longer, allowing others to buy it down the road. I hate when we, as a human culture, get caught up in scarcity.
By the way, don't you think that some company down the road in 10 years, will have come up with an even better process for mastering to vinyl, and will release yet another version of Fragile?? After all, how many audiophile grade editions have we seen in the last 8 years?

trumpetplayer:
Why do you ask that question every time someone says they got 2 copies? You keep trying to force your feelings about flipping down the forums throat. If I miss out on a release, I miss out. I don’t bitch and moan because some bought multiple copies.
Myke:
Add to this well made point, if a person has been a member here for 13 years, you already know the answer to that question. Clearly a passive-aggressive way of trying to start a confrontation.
Tommyboy:
Hit the ignore button.
Tullman:
MFSL may not have pressed as many copies if everyone just bought one. Collectors may be the people securing more copies available in the future.
