If you wish to participate I ask you to follow the usual rules: 1 - Please limit the discussion to the song at hand. Avoid skipping ahead to other songs (you can tell us your favorite song on the album when we get to it), and avoid making generalizations about the album as a whole until we've gone through all 9 tracks. 2 - Please avoid dismissing (or praising, for that matter) a given track without supporting your position. "This track is unlistenable" does not add anything to anyone else's experience. 3 - Discussion of works that intertwine with "Dylan" ("Self Portrait", "New Morning", "Another Self Portrait") is inevitable, but please avoid sharing your own personal fantasy revised track listings for any of the 4 albums, at least until we've finished the 9 tracks on Dylan and I can "unwatch thread". 4 - These guidelines have led to numerous successful threads. If you find them too restricting for your taste, feel free to start your own thread, or contribute to any of the multitudes of Dylan threads on this board where you can express your thoughts about the album as a whole. Does this take all the fun out of discussing music, or what? Never mind that most of these rules were broken on the first page by RayS himself. Never mind that this is a thread about Dylan's worst album ever. If you want to talk about "Lily of the West" you had damn well better not praise it or dismiss it, and if you dare generalize about it, you can take your ass to another thread. RayS is the kind of pompous SHite that makes the place so uptight.

But his "please limit the discussion to the song at hand" rule seems a bit hypocritical, considering that he doesn't adhere to that rule in anybody else's "song by song" discussions.

I like his lyrical analyses of Dylan's songs. I don't expect any of it in that thread. So, pass.

I read that book years ago. It's good in parts. But Ray seems to contradict himself too much for my liking. For example Paul yawns while George is showing him the chords of All Things Must Pass, then later in the book, Paul was enthusiastic when rehearsing Georges tunes. Maybe the other author wrote that bit. Similar to his Dylan thread.

First time I've noticed him. Any relation to LeeS? What with them both having the same surname.

Shit, I didn't know that was him. I liked that book. RayS is an asshole.
