No, I’m afraid that distinction belongs to Paul Snider.

Joni Mitchell, Neil, and damn near every other washed up 70s star here made some truly crappy music in 1985 but this takes the cake.

I remember hearing a story about when they recorded the track David Foster was giving Neil Young shit about his out of tune singing. Neil goes, unapologetically, "Hey, man, that's my style!!!" Foster just sorta mixed Neil down and all was good. But I don't blame David Foster for "Tears Is Not Enough". If we're gonna blame anybody for that virtue signalling nonsense, it'd have to be Bob Geldof since he started the ball rolling with "Band Aid". IMO most of these fuckin' rock stars are so isolated, insulated and generally out of touch with reality any pretensions of a social conscience they may have I find a bit suspect, especially knowing what degenerate hypocrites a lot of these guys and gals were in their prime. They didn't seem to care too much about the environment, politics or starving kids in Africa when there were ounces of pharmaceutical coke to be snorted, bottles of Jose Cuervo to be guzzled and dozens of underage groupies to be banged, did they? Where were the self righteously sanctimonious social consciences then? "Don Henley's gonna try and tell me about the environment...I got two words for you, Don: Joe fuckin' Walsh!" - Denis Leary, No Cure For Cancer

You can see that exchange between them in the new Netflix doc on David Foster. Genuinely made me laugh out loud, was not expecting that feedback to Neil Young’s face.

David Foster is an asshole, no question, but to give him his due he pulled quite a few careers' nuts outta the fire when they desperately needed it, for good or ill. Not bad for a guy who started off as a George Harrison sideman...

David Foster is right up there with Alan Thicke as far as important Canadians go. We should apologize for both of them as well as Bryan Adams.

Ask Bob Rock how it went when David Foster produced The Payolas. Ah yes, that was an experiment gone wrong. From Mick Ronson and success to David Foster and the dump bins.

SHITe on:
David Foster produced one of my favorite albums ever. Not gonna say who it's by or the name of the album (I'm in no mood to get roasted today), but on the other hand, I had no idea he was Canadian!

Since you won’t tell us outright, can we win a prize if we guess correctly? (One question though: Is the word “Kenny” anywhere on the sleeve?)
