Hello there. I have registered here just so I could ask a related question, re: "So, I was asked..."
Often on those forums, I see an old thread get re-opened, with "Hoofy" then commenting something like "re-opening by request."
But more often than not, the thread that has been re-opened coincidentally includes Hoofy previously talking about himself or his knowledge, and then no one ever actually comments on the new thread. Except, sometimes, Hoofy himself. Even though the thread was opened "by request."
So does Hoofy just re-open old threads that he thinks make him look good?

Ohhhhhhhhhh I get it now. It's a way for Hoofy to show his expertise on everything, no matter how mundane or minute. He can't just poat something, he needs a reason to. So by saying "I was asked...", he has an excuse to post. Then comes "ask the expert" and his chance to show off the things that are better than yours that he had or has.
