Flipping through a display copy of this book at my local bookstore today, I noticed that the “official” lyrics for “Jet” contain what I can only assume is the typo “with the wind in your hair of a thousand laces.” I always heard it as “with the wind in your hair of a thousand races.” Maybe I’m wrong, and “laces” is what Paul meant to say, although “races” makes more sense to me.

Is this sad sack still going on about St Vincent? I haven’t looked but I wonder if he lost his shit about Silk Sonic and their retro sound?

The lyrics have been on the Band on the Run inner sleeve/booklet for only, oh, about five decades.

Lest we forget this windbag, who is spooing all over the Elvis movie thread, basically repeating this OVER and OVER.

Elvis' entire 1960-68 should be dismissed as he was castrated by the Army and the Colonel, and his career was “in the toilet.”

He made some of his greatest music ever right out of the Army and then it was 95% garbage. Rich as fuck because he got large salaries for the movie appearances and owned a large share of the music publishing, but creatively in the toilet. Change the dates to 1962-1968 and common wisdom is absolutely correct.

Unfortunately Elvis was a bit too creative in the toilet, and it killed him in the end, upstairs at Graceland in that bathroom that's still thankfully closed from the public. But that's neither here nor there. Just like Elvis himself.

But that's neither here nor there. Just like Elvis himself. Since Elvis' estate seems to leave no stone unturned when it comes to generating additional revenue streams, it's a wonder they don't offer (for a hefty fee) the ultimate fan experience of taking a dump on the King's throne.

My favorite underrated Elvis album is Show Me on the Doll Where Jesus Touched You.
