Your idealism is commendable. But sadly wasted on the way things work on our fucked up little planet.

In USA politics, the option is between mediocre and horrible.

Saying that both parties suck is a cowardly way of saying “not my problem”.
It’s a two party system, pick a side and then go from there.

If you don't see that both parties are complicit in funding terrorism and allowing the kind of shit that is happening in Gaza and Yemen on a daily basis, and you are voting for one or the other of those two parties, you are the one saying "not my problem". Nothing has fundamentally changed under Joe Biden and why would it when the country is run by two right wing parties like Dems and Republicans? Kids still in cages, still dropping bombs, cops still killing black people, we'd rather fund terrorists than provide healthcare for our own citizens during the pandemic, people are still hurting. It's really heartbreaking that you and apparently a decent size portion of the country just throw their hands up in the air and say "oh well, just pick a side" when both sides are responsible for fucking up this country and ruining it for the rest of the world too. As long as we continue to pretend politicians are social media influencers and not elected officials, nothing will ever change.

Pump the brakes. What side is AOC on? What side is Bernie Sanders on? Your rage is commendable, quit pissing it away and focus. Pick.a.side. edit: Apologies for being terse, I feel like we are not far off on our opinions. But I am a firm believer in changing the system from within, and the only way to begin that process is to choose a side. Until liberals and progressives unite, we won’t be strong enough to stop what’s coming.

Trump is worse than Biden. Biden's refusal to condemn Israel's actions is monstrous. Which sitting president's foreign policy is AOC and Bernie criticizing at this time?
Even though I voted for Biden I see no problem with someone choosing to not vote for any lesser evil far right candidate. The corporate Dems that hold power in the party are practically the Republicans under Clinton or Bush. The Squad and Bernie make a strong case for electoralism. Nancy Pelosi, and a party held hostage by Joe Manchin does not.

As to the core of your sentiment, I don’t agree with the use of uncertain qualifiers like “lesser evil” or “practically”, they make for a flimsy argument. For every liberal that becomes nihilistic and despondent somewhere a fascist becomes more emboldened and more zealous.

Until liberals and progressives unite, we won’t be strong enough to stop what’s coming. Likewise, apologies if I came across like a dick. However, I recall when other lefties insisted that when Biden became president, we would push him to the left. That's not working out at all. If you mean by changing the system from within, somehow changing the democratic party, I'm far less optimistic than you are. From what I've seen, people like AOC or Bernie Sanders don't change the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party changes them. Remember when AOC came out a few weeks ago telling us how proud progressives are of the job Biden is doing? I'd like to know which progressives she had in mind.
Liberals and progressives will never come together because they have two completely different ideologies. You can't have a "liberal" president funding right wing extremists like Netanyahu *after* the media building is destroyed and expect people to trust that Biden will ever do the right thing with regard to foreign policy. If Trump had done that, I have a feeling there would be a lot more outcry from liberals and liberal media. I'm done with the major parties, unless we ever get a true progressive candidate but I don't think that's going to happen in my lifetime.

This would be a great time for IDF to share the evidence that Hamas was operating inside that building. Or any of the other evidence that prompted the latest attacks.

Apropos of lessons learned, I figure here is as good a place as any for a little update. No, no, no. Not on the cease-fire in the Middle East. No, the numbers are in and it appears that - as of today - there have been 7500+* deaths in 200+ cases of gun violence just this year in the US. HAH! Take that, Middle East wannabees. You want real violence? Then come see us. EEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAA!
