I'd give LeVar the job just for inspiring "Remain In Light and "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts."

It's a scummy article from a scummy publication with a total lack of journalistic standards. The country is absolutely inundated with these gold-digging, nuisance, abusive lawsuits alleging things like "discrimination" and "harassment" on the surface, when none of the specifics actually mentioned in the lawsuit relate in any way to what most people believe those terms mean. Literally one of the accusations here is that Richards wasn't talking to the woman because he was in a "close relationship" with another model. Correct me if I'm wrong, but where is it illegal to not talk to someone? And how is it relevant in your lawsuit to bring up a rumor about what relationship someone is having with someone else? One of these cases was overturned by the judge and the other was settled after Richards was removed as a defendant. Trash publications like the Daily BS take these absurd allegations and, no matter what the outcome of the cases, use them to smear, defame and tarnish the people accused, sprinkling phrases like "unsavory history" throughout the article, even though they have absolutely no proof or evidence that any of the allegations are true. It's completely unfair and unjust for someone's reputation to be tarnished in a mudslinging rag every time some greedy money-grubber attempts to extort money from a company by lobbing insubstantial, unsupported allegations at them in a frivolous lawsuit.

As a man, I can't imagine ever being offended by someone complimenting me on my appearance. I wish I had more opportunity to test the theory though!

The idea that every joke you've ever told or every opinion you've ever had on an issue should be looked at to see if you qualify for a job is ridiculous. It's almost impossible for any rules this strict to be applied consistently. Ted Danson is still working after at all, after the infamous blackface incident in the '90s. It's taking the scrutiny that used to be applied only to political candidates and now applying it to anyone in TV or movies, or even other jobs. But yet, if someone gets arrested for drugs, we want to rehabilitate them and cheer them when they make a comeback. But if someone has an opinion or tells a joke we don't like, they need to be banished forever. The reality is, the general public doesn't care about these minor things. Cancel culture is something the media alone is obsessed with, and that factions of people use solely as a war tactic to silence people they oppose for whatever reason. It would take a very high bar for the public to want someone to lose their job over something they did in the past. It would have to be something both immoral and illegal. This is turning into the Oscars all over again, where no one will ever be considered acceptable as host, and no one will ever want to apply as host because their past will be dug into as much as a presidential candidate.

I dunno Jedi, it doesn’t seem like there’s as much scrutiny applied to politicians as you might think

What's a racist or sexist joke? Are the "jive-talking" guys in Airplane a racist joke? Or the black natives who are really good at basketball? I don't believe Richards said anything that was racist or sexist. Jokes are jokes. They are meant to create laughter through an artful use of language or situations, not to communicate someone's beliefs about anything. To say it's not blacklisting is overlooking how monolithic this thought process is becoming. This is something we're seeing repeatedly from different companies. Is someone going to rush out to hire Richards now, after his name has been dragged through the mud by some elements of the media? Most of the "internet-only" press doesn't even pretend to have journalistic integrity. When you see these sites like Ringer, Daily Beast, Huffington Post, Yahoo News, Buzzfeed, Vox, etc., they are agenda-driven outlets. That's their right, but these sites just shouldn't be quoted or looked at by anyone who is seeking an objective evaluation of the facts.
