yeah, saw it again awhile back. Reminded me that I've always found Bill Murray's screen persona kinda creepy, smug, and not nearly as hilarious as he/his writers seemed to think. Even in beloved 'classics' like Groundhog Day.

Yeah, I mean, everyone who knows a GB fan knows they were opposed to the 2016 film because it was a remake. If Disney's first Star Wars movie was announced as A New Hope: The Remake with Lucy Skywalker, Hannah Solo and Lady Vaderia...I can imagine everything playing out exactly as it did with GB2016. Outraged fans giving the trailer a million thumbs down, the media calling them sexist, and then this war of words escalating back and forth. The fact is, fans made it clear why they opposed the remake, but the media wrote lengthy dissertations declaring why the fans were lying or were "secretly" sexist anyway. Just Googling around pulled up an Indiewire and The Atlantic article from 2016 doing just that. There is a witch hunt mentality out there to destroy all sexists and racists that is perfectly happy to identify their targets for termination without any proof. Simply being accused is all it takes to be judged as guilty.

Hey, Bill Murray went after Chevy Chase. He gets points in my book. Chevy and STEvE are two guys you would just love to punch in the temple.

I know what you mean. I thought the whole point of Murray's 80s & 90s movies was that he was great at playing an insufferable asshole, culminating in that Scrooge movie. It's odd to see him sainted now.
Ghostbusters was pretty rad when I was in elementary school, but it looks terrible now. Once you look past the now-dated special effects, it's a weak story with weak characters. The current reverence for dumb 80s movies is cringeworthy to me.

Meanwhile on Reddit: I want to draw attention to this point. He’s literally been taking screenshots of advance ticket sales at his local theatre for the new Ghostbusters to show it’s more popular than the Lady Ghostbusters movie. A true American hero. God bless you, you hateful piece of shit.

How anyone could love this shitty film about shitty colonialist self-absorbed whiny assholes must be one themselves. I never much cared for Bill Murray for the reasons you've cited, but after having to see this film I just cannot fucking stand the sight of him. Fuck Sofia Coppola as well. I ask this with some trepidation but with love, COLA. Do you hate basically everything? LIT is a pretty good movie and Sofia is a decent enough director. Sincerely, A shitty colonialist self-absorbed whiny asshole.

If it wasn't for that psychotic, creeping-into-your-house-to-steal-your-panties-then-lingering-over-your-sleeping-body look in his eyes, I would go so far as to say that can't really be him in those photos. He writes like an old man. I saw him in a thread saying he hasn't really watched TV in twenty years because it's all junk, or something. But how old was he twenty years ago? Fourteen? Fuck face is 40/41

What part of Raiders of Lost Ark made J.J. so very nervous that he was still talking about it forty years later?
a) The part where someone's back is covered in tarantulas that then crawl across their neck b) The part where the main villain's screaming face gets covered in fire and then explodes c) The part where the two guys faces melt right off d) The part where a smiling college coed blinks her eyes lovingly at the hero

The true answer is when he realizes that the Nazis are supposed to be the villains in this one.
