He'd love to hear the Threetle-Beatle version of Now and Then, but also referred to the Lennon demo as garbage. Never have I seen someone so obsessed over what they on some level recognize as a polished turd.

I'd bet the Threetles "Now And Then" isn't even a polished fart, never mind a turd...they supposedly spent one fucking afternoon messing around with it. How good can it be? Why Cameron is so goddamned obsessed with this song I'll never know.

He is obsessed with everything unreleased and even when something is released he obsesses over what other things they could "fly in" to make it better. He's a complete fucking mental case and would not be happy if Giles Martin hand delivered every inch of magnetic tape the fucking Beatles ever recorded on.

I consider this forum kind of a holy place.. I'll tell you what I mean by that.
Not only can we enforce our reactionary views, stay stuck in the past, become bitter and twisted, exchange information about terrible music made before 1976. But many ( most of us here ) are either unemployed, in special hospitals, trust fund kids, or have personality disorders.

Sulpy is one fucking retard, and a prick and an asshole on top. His actual writing makes Lewisohn's prose sound like Henry Miller, and his bootleg books have been obsolete for decades. He fucking even charged money to use his retarded ProBoards forum, where all of two or three Beatards were active and vastly outnumbered by mods who deleted anything Sulpy disliked.
I remember the genius Sulpy once starting a thread that excitedly began "My German true stereo Magical Mystery Tour pressing says 'kann auch monophon gespielt werden' on it!!!! Can this mean that this beloved album is also available in a mono pressing too?!?" He was nearly beside himself with this discovery, and immediately expounded on the implications it might have for the canon. His excitement was so infectious that a few Beatards (this was before he started charging to use his forum) got excited over it too. It was like watching a panhandler find gold.
I was up to me to piss on their parade, but I did so gingerly because I knew any little thing would set Sulpy off. So, in the gentlest possible way, I replied "Actually, that German quote means "can also be played on mono players. There is no mono pressing." I felt that sounded a little harsh, so I added as a softener "Pink Floyd albums sometimes have the same message", which I completely made up on the spot, but I was trying to make it seem a natural mistake or something...
It did not take long. The thread was poofed, and I got an angry PM from the dipshit, frothing at the mouth, asking how I had the "audacity to embarrass me in public like that" The mildest of disagreements or corrections would send him into an irrational and infantile rage for days.
Not to mention he is an Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh-loving Trumpian. Anyone who would invoke his name to bolster his claim that SHF is a "holy" place has to have low intelligence. Yeah, it is the holiest of holy. Full of 'holes.

Sulpy is quite a lot like Hoofer, actually. The only difference is that Hoofer sometimes actually gets his hands on tapes, while Sulpy only writes about it. And Hoofer, believe it or not, actually is more tolerant and patient, which ought to give you some idea about Sulpy. As bad a forum host as Hoofer is, there are worse out there. Not many worse, but at least I can think of one.

I consider this forum kind of a holy place.. I'll tell you what I mean by that. Not only can we share our conspiracy theories, brainfarts, paranoia, exchange lunacy. But many ( most of us here ) are either retarded, or at least deeply disturbed. Our ugly host Mr Hoffman, many of the world's leading Beatles fanboys & fanatics. Even actual engineers of actual Indie albums like Scoot are members here. Lots of heavy knowledgable heavyweights participate here. The real deal... Leading experts on our little toyplanet. No kidding this is true. We are lucky to have this asylum... Imo. Steve Ho is a leading unemployed forum owner. Gnurt actually posted about ""Feelin' So Good (S.K.O.O.B.Y.-D.O.O.)" & who did what to create the drum track, during Jughead's vacation. Chip Stylus & M******l two of the planets leading apes are members here. They both posted in a Monkees thread last week. Excecutives at Audio Fideloty, Mullet Records & all the companies are members here. RON Braintard is a member here. Keith Hirsh may or may not be a member, but he gets pretty regular reports directly from the ghost of JoePa. That's a fact unquestionably Fix'd.

What's really funny about Doug Sulpy is they treat him like he's some sort of Final Authority on All Things Beatle when, from what I've read, he's not even a big Beatles fan! Mind ya, even if it was for research purposes, I have to question the sanity of anyone who's listened to ALL of the January 1969 tapes. I couldn't even make it through the first hour of the first day...

Mind ya, even if it was for research purposes, I have to question the sanity of anyone who's listened to ALL of the January 1969 tapes. I couldn't even make it through the first hour of the first day... Not a fan is putting it mildly. He likes the Beatlemania-era Beatles, but he gets off the bus with Sgt. Pepper onward, and he has a fairly rocky time with Rubber Soul and Revolver, especially the psychedelic bits. He dislikes Lennon's politics intensely, he can't fucking stand Yoko and says really nasty things about her every chance he gets, he thinks the four musicians of the Beatles were assholes as humans, and there are a lot of individual songs he hates too. If he is a Beatles "fan", it's no wonder one was murdered and one was almost murdered. Keep in mind that he makes all of this very clear at all times, yet he is supposed to be relying on hardcore Beatles acolytes to pay his monthly nut. It's like a Hyundai salesman telling a customer, "dude you'll look like a fag in this cheapass piece of shit. Can you handle $740 a month?" He prefers the Beach Boys (early) and the Monkees. He dislikes the Rolling Stones because he finds Mick Jagger "effeminate" He is like a lot of closet rock haters at SHF, who are old, embittered Beatards. Each Beatarded life is different, but Sulpy's can stand in for any number of SHite lives: He clearly must have started out as a bootleg-buying Beatard of the first degree. He was probably the smartest in his Beatard circle (most Beatards appear to be of low intelligence, and they gravitate to the moderate-intelligence ones) He pissed away his 20's haunting record stores, blowing his wad at Beatlefest, getting in touch with other Beatard poobahs around the country. As 30 approached, without salable skills or a winning personality, he decided to try to monetize his expertise. If it worked for Lewisohn, why not him? It is simple (if tedious) to write a book like his (ya sit down, listen to the tapes, and write what you hear in a droning, monotonous way), but few if any real writers would bother with such a pointless topic. So a Beatard with bootlegs and no fucking life whatsoever gained a little podunk fame by publishing his stupid 'zine and self-published book. He clearly does not have much money to support himself; he is always hatching schemes to milk his followers of a few bucks more. Eventually, one imagines, he grew sick of the fucking Beatles entirely. There is just so many times you can hear yeah-yeah-yeah and still feel anything at all. Resentment started to sink in. He devoted his whole loser life to the Beatles just so he could survive on his overpriced, cheaply-bound vanity pressing books and the nickels and dimes his 'zine brought in? It barely kept him in his cat-piss stenched room. Records didn't get him off anymore, nothing did, except AM talk radio. But what could he do? With no skills at anything remotely useful and horrible personality? No manager would have any use for him. So, he was stuck in his room with his little 'zine, burnt out on gawdawful Get Back tapes, pissed off at Lennon because guys like him would have voted for Obama, bored to tears with The Beatles Second Album, and worried about the rent... Then, his fucking worshipers started to abandon him. What use is a bootleg book written in the 90's, when new boots constantly circulate on the internet? Who needs an "expert" like Sulpy, when the group-mind can come up with far better archival records? Who needs his stupid 'zine, when the internet is free and better? Plus, the guy clearly fucking hates the Beatles. To a Beatard, that becomes a drag. He alienated the last fans he had left when he set his ProBoards (a free forum identical to this one) to a pay forum. What does he have left now? The admiration of Beatards who heard he had written a book and never had the displeasure of dealing with him directly. Simmering hatred of a lot of people he burned or pissed off in the past. A roomful of fucking records it makes him sick to even look at. Annual Beatard earnings falling into the four digits per annum, with three digits inevitable... And whatever AM radio filled his head with... It fucking sucks to be Doug Sulpy, one of the most miserable pills alive. Perfect fodder for the alt-right.
