A few years back, I happened across a copy of Ram at a Goodwill. It was 25 cents (the cover had water damage but the actual record was fine). I bought that and a copy of McCartney, also with a damaged cover for a quarter also.
I figured I got my money's worth already with Maybe I'm Amazed and Uncle Albert. I always thought Uncle Albert was the goofiest shit ever, which wasn't bad.
So later in the day, my fiancé goes to her mom's with the kids and I decide to check the records out. See if I get into anything.
McCartney? Nah. But to be fair, I already knew what that album was. Some pasted together demos with a single on it.
Next was Ram. Aside from Too Many People, which I like humming when I'm 10th in queue at the grocery store, and the aforementioned Uncle Albert, there wasn't a single song where I thought 'WOW! That's a great song!'. I won't deny McCartney can write some decent melodies, but my God. I might be able to make a decent EP of good McCartney stuff, but that's if I'm feeling generous.
Conclusion: No, Ram is not a very good album. At all.

COLA, you’re trying to tell me this rocking rocker of a rock track won’t be revered in 50 years?
Even the band is like, what the fuck is this shit?

Way too gay. That's why Paulie left it off Red Rose Speedway.
