Slightly off topic but.. I recently watched the Darin bio-pic ' Beyond the Sea ' with Kevin Spacey in the lead role. There's a scene where it's the late 60's and there is much unrest in the U.S.--Vietnam , social protest , racial discrimination --- and Darin is preparing to withdraw from it all. He 's packing a suitcase and on top of his clothes he throws in a copy of ' Blonde on Blonde '. A CD of 'Blonde on Blonde' ! If that bugged you... In the Bobby Darin bio-pic movie ' Beneath The Sea ' there's a scene set in the late 60s. Darin is conflicted about his life and wants to get away for some soul searching. He packs a bag with some clothes and personal items and on top of them he throws in a copy of 'Blonde On Blonde '. A CD of 'Blonde On Blonde ' ! Off topic but there's a somewhat weird scene in 'Beyond The Sea' It's the late 60s and Darin is at odds with himself and the state of the country which is enveloped in riots and unrest. He decides to get away from the madness and is packing a suitcase. He puts in clothes , toiletries and a CD of ' Blonde on Blonde'(!). Wrong label? That ain't nothing! Check out this gaffe: In the Bobby Darin bio-pic ' Beyond The Sea' there's a scene which shows Darin in the late 60s/early 70s . The U.S. is in turmoil. VietNam, demonstrations, riots, violence, social unrest...and Darin is sickened by it and wants to withdraw and get away. He packs a bag with some clothes , personal items and a CD of ' Blonde of Blonde'. In the Bobby Darin biopic ' Beneath The Sea' there's the following scene: It's the late 60s and Darin is fed up with with a lot of things and decides to drop out of society for awhile. He packs a suitcase with some clothes and personal items and a copy of Dylan's 'Blonde On Blonde', a CD copy of it.

The two things that bug me about Under the Sea are that a) Kevin Spacey was already older than Bobby Darin ever lived to be and b) Kevin Spacey was in it.

Every time that anecdote was repeated, it sounded more and more like half-remembered fiction. Like so much else on the forums. So I did it. I scanned through the film on Amazon "Freevee" (how appropriate that a horrifically terrible movie is available for free on a service with such a terrible name.) It's not a CD of Blonde On Blonde. It's quite clearly an eight track tape of the album.
I knew those stories smelled funny. Not quite the intentionally self-aggrandizing stench of Huffy anecdotal fiction, mind you. But more like...milk that's a few days off.

You’re all wrong. It’s a Betamax tape of Blonds on Blonds, which is a kind of mishmash video of burlesque dancing and foxy boxing. Or so I’ve heard.

I saw a few suitcase scenes as I scrubbed through, I think it was melodramatic suitcase scene #12 or so, which I think was about one hour and twenty minutes in. I seem to remember Spacey being alone like a sad sack in the scene, and looking sillier than usual.
