Ummmm The Smiths alone make the 80s great.

“ The '80? A decade of significantly diminished quality. Nobody likes '80s music except ironically, or because they grew up with it. Every decade subsequent to the '80s has been vastly superior and has produced more great albums. Even the classic 60s/70s bands - which were almost uniformly terrible in the 1980s - made better albums after the stink of that miserable decade had passed.” Ummmm The Smiths alone make the 80s great. What a fucking inane thesis. Prince’s output in the 80s alone was superior to almost anything that came out in the 70s. Dirty Mind…1999…Purple Rain…Sign “☮️” The Times… The creativity on those albums was just incredible. (Dave, who was the putz you quoted?)

What a crummy thread after the passing of Croz.I think I hate that nickname Croz more than any other boomer rocker nickname, even Shakey or Macca. The person? I didn't hate David Crosby at all. He reminds me of some of my over-caffeinated jerky friends. The '80? A decade of significantly diminished quality. Nobody likes '80s music except ironically, or because they grew up with it.As a 70 year old, I like much of the 80s and later myooosick almost as much as I love 60s-70s crap.

From a Facebook post, not there. Photo is shelves of thousands of CDs with a huge variety of styles.
“I am Bernd (known as Swazi in some music forums), live nearby Munich/Germany with my family and love melodic rock music and CD collecting. Here is my collection, consisting of all sorts of genres such as Westcoast, AOR, Melodic Hard Rock, Melodic Metal and Prog Rock.”
How in the fuck do people listen to only one style of music?

Definitely one of the things about these drain clogs that drives me most crazy. Some dude going on about how broad and eclectic his tastes are and then rolling out a list that is like 20 white acts with differently shaped guitars. It's the unearned smugness, I think.

My God, Stephen Stills really was a proto SHiTE. From Rolling Stone's Rate-A-Record column, 1977. (I'm actually questioning the authenticity of this, it's just too nailed-on to be real)
