But... the brainwashed abused Korean women are more attractive than the carb-enhanced white-privilege Christian women! It's an insult to Dear Leader Donald. And Our Way of Life. Are we losing the new Cold War?

When will this madness end? Is there anything this nut can do or say that can have at least one Republican Congressman to stand up and say enough is enough? These fuckers are all going to walk the plank with this mad man. I don't know how much lower the bar can get but I think there is still some distance left, help us all. Just think this wack job has the nuclear codes that can vaporize the planet at a moments notice. Just sleep on that one.

I think we need to pause for a moment and consider that, in terms of conservative-base expectations, the bar was set successively lower by heralding a President suffering from Alzheimer's (Reagan -- and that's not intended as a cheap shot) and, not much later, lauding the arrival of a dynasty by advancing an intellectually-challenged dullard (Bush Jr. -- a cheap shot, that, but fair I think) to the most important public office on Earth. After them, was anything truly unpossible? And after Trump, they'll almost-certainly bring forward a genuine fascist with the mental competence to <shudder> get the job done.

Actually the prospect of Pence following Trump is even more unsettling. Have you looked into those eyes? It was the finger on the button argument which settled my vote in the odious 2016 debacle. I wish it had occurred to more of our fellow countrymen and women.

Dude, I've been sleeping on that one since before Covfefe took office in 2017. The only thing that will change that is if enough people turn out to vote in 2020. But I'm not convinced that will happen. The MSM will put all their energy behind Joe Biden or Kamala Harris (they're already doing it), the DNC will do everything they can to screw over the more progressive lefties, enthusiasm for voters under the age of 40 will be low and it will be 2016 all over again. Just sleep on *that* one.

Too bad the dead Koch brother doesn't get to see a climate catastrophe.
Oh, and Ginsburgs' pancreatic cancer...she may not make it to early 2021.

You started with Reagan when you really should have started with Nixon. Just to explain, I only *omitted* Nixon because I think there was a shared illusion (not just Republican-based) that there was still a "loftiness" (sorry not the best word choice) to the office of President, even post-Nixon. This is back in the late '70s mind you. With Reagan, the President was no longer someone to look up to. Now, he was almost a pal; a Grampa-in-chief. (It always fucking baffled me but that's how it was put forward on American newscasts. He was often called "the Great Storyteller", which implies a relationship built on a perception of warmth, but he always looked and acted like he was over-his-head; truly lost. Just my view.) Perhaps the US President was merely a buddy way back in America's past. Maybe it was just a return to the way it had been and should be? In any case it seemed at the time, after Nixon (maybe even Carter) the American public hasn't treated the presidency with much of a sense of gravitas-- but again I realize it's just my singular way of seeing things. However, I would note a critically important link between Trump and Nixon (Nixon's reign seeming to represent a golden era for today's Republicans). Every international action taken by the Trump regime is based on the Nixon-Kissinger principle: be the craziest motherf*cker in the room. It was rolled out to great effect during the Vietnam War (and the diplomatic activities behind the scenes) and if I recall correctly Garry Wills' masterpiece "Nixon Agonistes" explains it all in detail. On one hand yes it did utterly unnerve Ho Chi Minh, the Viet Cong, the Chinese and Russians supporting them, etc. Nothing was unpossible! On the other hand, America lost. But that wildman approach remains the preferred way to use America's might-and-right among Conservative thinkers. So, when Trump blusters, for example, at the G7, he isn't demonstrating the "Art of the Deal". He's channeling Nixon-Kissinger. Alas, Trump's diplomatic approach is often viewed as no more than an amusing interlude, like it's all shits and giggles with no consequences. Treating Britain's non-Brexiters like Che Guevara, or the EU like it's the Warsaw Pact, or (if I may) US's NAFTA-'partners' like the Viet Cong is an... interesting approach. If destroying the western alliance that won WW2 is merely interesting.

Brian May Condemns Controversial Badger CullJust more opinion based, clash of the classes, BS "news". "I think this." "Yeah, well I think that." My opinion is more important than your opinion so we need to do what I want...... I have more confidence in the farmer over the rock star with an agenda when the subject is bovine diseases. So he is to this issue what Bill Nye is to Global Warming? i.e. a degree in a different thing but talking on this thing. Problem is, I've become aware of too many celebrities that are actively involved in a thing and they are on the goofy side of the issue. I'm speaking purely generically. I know nothing about this particular issue, but I've seen plenty of celebrities use their fame to promote goofy stuff politically and socially. It's always possible he DOES know what he's talking about on this issue, of course. It's not an important enough issue for me to bother to find out though. Again, my comment was strictly regarding the subject of celebrities commenting on something not related to whatever it was that made them famous in the first place. It must be weird for you to have a shill and a second rate reality tv star running your country. What does this mean? Why did you interject this statement? How does it pertain to the post you replied about? How does this pertain to the topic of this thread?
