I AM BACK folks, I needed a nearly 5 month break from this forum. So much negativity at times. Thought about deleting my ID but giving it another shot. Post Beatlefest in August, I dropped this Cold Turkey............... The above quote was dutifully poated in all these threads: 1. Poll: Paul McCartney's "Pure McCartney" box set-1 year later......... 2. RINGO STARR POLL: The Apple Years box set? 3. Poll: Favorite Part(s) of Beatlefest/Fest for Beatles Fans-Choose up to 3 4. 2016 Paul McCartney compilation album - "Pure McCartney" * 5. Paul McCartney Archive Collection - 'Forthcoming Releases' [TBC] 6. Paul McCartney Archive Collection - Flowers In The Dirt* 7. Concert For George reissue CD/LP/DVD Feb 23, 2018 8. Paul McCartney Archive Collection Poll: Favorite so far? 9. McCartney New Album started with producer Greg Kurstin 10. Beatles "White Album" and John Lennon 'Imagine' - Expanded Reissues Due In 2018* 11. Are the Beatles 2017 Christmas Ltd Ed already OOP? 12. Back catalogue releases related to McCartney's 2016 move back to Capitol - First releases announced* Too bad he couldn't stop announcing his return cold turkey.

There is clearly more here than meets the eye. Wingsfan is holding back most of the story. I get the impression he's dying for someone to ask, but nobody cares...
He makes it sound like the SHites' negativity made him run off.
But why then the cryptic chronological reference "post-Beatlefest"? What has Beatlefest got to do with negativity at Hoofer's? There is a missing link here...
Something must have happened at Beatlefest. For many attendees, it is an emotional experience, the social and intellectual and visceral high point of the year; perhaps the closest modern equivalent would be a phenomenon known as 'Bronycon' It is a place where beliefs are challenged, large sums of money changes hands, friendships are forged or severed, the Dieties are worshipped and appeased, rites of passage occur, and soul-searching takes place. It reduces people to tears, makes them seek Jesus, fills them with rage and doubt, causes mental breakdowns... Sometimes, even sex happens, if you don't mind BO and fat bellies. I even know of two individuals of otherwise sane demeanor whose first LSD experiences were at a Beatlefest. It is a journey into Pepperland all right, if you are Beatarded enough to attend...
So any-fucking-thing could have happened to wingsfan2012. He may have faced a crisis of the soul, something that put him off of Beatles and even fucking Wings, and all the trappings that go with them. He was facing that crossroads that all Beatards must face, and he had to make the choice to save himself or not. So, out with the Beatles and Wings! Fuck them! Fuck Hoofers and fuck audiophools! He was out.
Unfortunately, Beatardation, if not arrested vigorously and early enough, has a high recidivism rate, and wingsfan2012 is falling off the wagon. He misses "Little Lamb Dragonfly" and "Girlfriend" and "Morse Moose and the Grey Goose", and he misses the camaraderie of fellow Wingtards. He couldn't handle the pressures of the real world, it made him crazy. All he wanted to do was hide inside his own head, and it made him insane in there. So, he needs his Wings back. Like a degenerate alkie, he comes sidling up to the bar, and sits at his usual stool as the other patrons pretend not to notice.
He feels shame at this. He knows he is blowing it; he is making the wrong turn at the crossroads, and once you slide back into it, it becomes three times as hard to come out of it again. So, he blames the others for what happened to him at Beatlefest, while knowing, deep down, that he is in the abyss again, probably for keeps this time.

"Dear diary: Today I learned that Beatlesfest is an actual thing. It is real. Like really real. My ovaries just exploded. *swoon*".

I'd just like to know the significance of the "2012" in his user name.
Maybe it means he'll be starting elementary school this year.
That would explain a lot of things.

BREAKING NEWS! All of wingsfan2012's poats made since his triumphant return have been gorfed! EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM... It's like the events of the past day never really happened. (That also means it time to give a shout out to the the members of the SHite goof patrol that regularly check in on Stereo Central to see who we're laughing at. [You guys are total laughingstocks. ])

What happens at Beatlefest stays at Beatlefest. Which is probably for the best, considering that nobody else on the planet except for hardcore Beatards gives a fuck about Beatlefest!

What?!? Never heard of Beatlefest?!?
Don't you people know anything about fun?!?
For 43 years, Beatlefest has served as the apex of Beatle fandom. In some ways, you can't get any closer to the fabs than dropping five C-notes on overpriced junk in the dealer's room, or watching a live set by doddering and decrepit second-tier Apple Records artists.
Here, let jeatlboe take you down:
According to founder Mark Lapidos, who has milked this thing as his career ever since its inception, none other than good ole John Lennon gave his verbal blessing to the first one (Lapidos tells the story for the 8000th time at the three minute mark). In recent years, however, the Beatles have been less friendly. They sued Lapidos over the name "Beatlefest" and won, so now the thing is called "Fest for Beatles Fans" However, nothing else has changed one bit in 43 years.
