Anybody who claims to spend hours doing the tones on a Dolby unit is fiddling their timesheet.

So STeVE didn't know the guy's name or who he was. The unknown guy did stop, although in a huge rush, to give STeVE a mini-concert of, I guess, the song "Buckaroo," and although it meant nothing to STeVE, years later when he SOMEHOW had someone tell him that the guy from that day years ago (when he was just a little clueless boy) was named Don Rich, somehow he developed total consciousness over space and time and pieced all of the bits of this puzzle into place. Sure he did.

Steve First thanks for the forums and to all who manage it.
I have quite a few questions about the equipment and other things that you do. As you answer it will more than likely generate other questions from myself.
Do you use speakers or headphones when mastering. I hope that sounds correct
What are you currently using?
Throughout your career what have you used?
In the past it seems like most speaker had an average of 10 inch woofers say 8 to 15 inch. Today speakers seem to be much smaller 4 to 6 inch. I see individuals post that a certain album has no bass. When played on my system they seem to have plenty. I am using 4343 JBL's with a 10 inch mid woofer and 15 inch woofer. Not sure how to word this question but if one was to master on say a 5 inch woofer would they not put in more bass than an individual mastering on larger speakers?
Thanks
Also I hope others would join in with questions.
"Never use headphones, always speakers.
Depended on what studio I worked out of (or was allowed into, certainly not Abbey Road for sure). I used what they used. At home I used Audio Note UK playback gear as seen in my "Equipment profile."
All studios have big ol' monitors and little ones. We traded off constantly to be sure.
That what you mean?" Steve Hoffman, Yesterday at 5:16 PM
Steve, you forgot the past tense so I adjusted your statement for you..

The only thing he is currently using is the copy and paste keys for "Thread opened by request".

Anybody who claims to spend hours doing the tones on a Dolby unit is fiddling their timesheet. Evidently you have mistaken Hooofman for an actual mastering engineer. The sleazebag isn't capable of adjusting Dolby A levels. Starting at DCC Kevin Gray did the necessary calibrations. When Gray finally threw the prick out on his ass from AcousTech Mastering, Marsha found a new baby sitter for him in Stephen Marsh. And just like Gray before him, Marsh was then the guy who did the real work.

This whole thing made me laugh, right down to the “profile” comment (and a special appearance from Vidiot). I’m not sharing this to criticize STeVe but just because it made me laugh. I am curious how much he says vs. what he has said in the past doesn’t match up.

Doesn't he hold John Oteri's dick in his hand every time he takes a piss?

STeVe’s school sure had a lot of visitors. STeVe: STeVe: J. A. G.? Was that STeVE's secret lunch nickname for Albert Arnold "Buddy" Gillespie? Jewboy Arnold Gillespie?
A. Arnold Gillespie was born on October 14, 1899 in El Paso, Texas, USA as Albert Arnold Gillespie. He is known for his work on Forbidden Planet (1956), Ben-Hur (1959) and The Wizard of Oz (1939).
Yes, yes, yes, I know. Genius. Oh, and "Buddy" Gillespie visited my school too. Several times. Him and Judy Garland and a midget. Many, many visits. We had lunch together, yummy BBQ on Wonder Bread and strawberry sodas like those people liked to drink. Good times.
