This is the worst piece of shit I heard in a long term. Oh Macca’s behind it?! Whaaaat??! You could’ve knocked me down with a feather.

But...but...themess always says that this is proof of how Sir Weed, I mean Sir Paulie, was really on the 'cutting edge' all along. It is one of his most cherished beliefs, and if you challenge him on it and say "your hero was under the influence of Japanese new age maestro Kitaro, who has made shit like this since the early 70's. Oh, and weed too", he will first get angry and then he will sulk. Try it if you get a chance!

Temporary Secretary was the best record McCartney had made in years, and better than anything that followed for the next half-decade. That's the worrying bit.

I never even heard this turgid shit until 2 years ago when 6Music began playing it semi-regularly. I was listening at work asking my colleagues “wtf is this shit?” They asked me back “I don’t know, but how is this fucking shit getting regular plays??” So we googled it and found old turkey neck was “the brains” behind this. I’d rather have fucking Cher through a vocoder for a whole day than this crap.

Around the turn of the millennium, there was a period of about 4 years when every single time you went into a German supermarket, a fucking McCartney or Wings song would be played every ten minutes. My theory was that McCartney purchased every German supermarket chain for the sole purpose of aggressively forcing his shitty catalog down the throats of the hapless public. Maybe, or maybe the war never ended on their own soil. Fuck you English speaker!

Forty years of shit albums. No wonder McCartney fans are bitter.

Actually, I quite like "Coming Up". It's about the only decent song on the album it's from, and I think its video is very clever – even now.
For its time, the video was also considered fairly cutting edge, as the process used to allow McCartney to play each role and have them synch up was new in 1980.

Au contraire. Steve Howe at the cutting edge of the coalface of the white heat of technology in 1975:
