But seriously, is that Ricky Rebel guy trolling TrumpTards? The Fox and Friends appearance that I watched on youtube was fuck-ing-ha-larious.

sewercock:
some asshole I never noticed before, nomadicarchivist, on Billie Eilish:
I've definitely warmed up to the Billie Eilish album. Calling it overpackaged sugar coated pop is an obvious sign this guy is a moron. It's pretty minimalist. There are long stretches where there's nothing but vocals and a kick drum, or vocals and a keyboard. Tons of silence too.
But then again these are the same assholes that think Fuh You is a masterpiece.

Her stuff is dark, for the most part and very dark for the rest. Tiffany, she ain't!

Yeah, and for 17 to be coming up with stuff like this is pretty awesome. Say what you want about the "anyone with a laptop can make an album" mindset. If this were true, where are all the geniuses on SHTV with their brilliant albums?

I liked Billie Eilish the first time I heard her... when she was called Lana Del Rey. Sad and ironic that the only Rock n Roll was in the "In Memoriam" segment Now that the MACHINE has given this Billie Eye Lash chick EVERYTHING and hyped her beyond belief for the last 6 months could she please GO AWAY now!@ why does anyone pay attention to this crap? stevie wonder was the last one worthy yeah, i said it lip sync all stars! phooey!!! I will take who will not even remember any of these people in 10 years for 100 Alex. (other then a few of the old timers) Billie Eilish=Christopher Cross. And you don't need to be a supposed "boomer" to be sad they can't show Best Rock Album or Best Alternative Album on the 3.5 hour broadcast. Cut out one of these bombastic performances. Alicia Keys performed 3 times. They make time for Best Comedy Album and Best Rap/Sung Performance. They fit in Best Country Album, which they should, but that genre has its own awards show. Pretty lame. The best part of the show last night was when they showed all the artists who died. I watched the whole show, because my wife wanted to watch it, and put me in the “this music is objectively bad” camp. All of it. From Billie Eilish to the sad parody of Aerosmith that embarrassed itself onstage last night. Don't forget, this is the same institution that awarded Jethro Tull the Metal Album Of The Year award (or whatever it was called). That was 1982. Nothing has changed in 38 years in regard to Metal at the Grammys. JT got his grammy in the 1988 ceremony which one was when Whoopie told Metallica something like "take your guitars and go home"after throw their guitars smashing over the stage floor? 1991 - 1992? Must have been a bad year in music if one person could sweep the big 3 and claim Best New Artist. Then again, the Grammy Awards have been known to be rigged... That show last night was garbage.

How the hell can that harpy claim to love The Beatles and then run down Metallica? There is no way she really likes the rawk.

Man, I don't know much about Bruno Mars, but I saw his halftime Superbowl thing, and if my wife said she wanted to go see him, I'd spring for as good a seats as I can afford in a heartbeat. That dude looks like he would be amazing to see live and I'd go for sure. How can anyone that claims to like music not be able to appreciate how talented he is?

I fully expect a roasting for this, so here goes...
A lot of modern music doesn't excite me. I believe I have reached peak "rose colored glasses" age. I've made attempts to get into some of it, and I have my reasons why I can't.
However, it stops at that. It ain't for me, but if it floats your boat, more power to you. I remember some of the things my parents used to say about what I liked in the 90s and 00s. But, some folks must enjoy being a broken fucking record, harping on the same worn out point, over and over again. "I don't like THIS! I don't like THAT!" I guess whatever helps you sleep at night... But if you wanna see stupid, ignorant or shallow, go take a look in the mirror.
I was glad to see not everyone in those threads is a complete dipshit, though. But when you're in a search for likes and friends on a board full of people that have none, this is what you get.

If you’re judging modern music by what’s on the radio and what’s featured at the Grammys, then you’re doing it wrong. The majority of it sucks ass.

That's really what it is. I wish I had more time to maybe open YouTube and click around and see what I'm missing. I know I'll never find jack shit to enjoy on terrestrial radio. By the time I get to work, put in God knows how many hours on any given day, get home, shove some food down my throat, maybe see the kids a few minutes, pick up the house, get my business handled, fuck, it's easier just to put on the album I've heard a billion times before. Laziness on my part? Maybe. I don't have the time I did at 15 to find things.
But that doesn't make it okay to sit and trash it. It would be different if I didn't wish to make any effort to find new things but rained on someone else's parade. I haven't heard a note of Billie Ellish's album, so I don't feel the need to jump online and talk it down.
You have to remember, there's just no satisfying these assholes. Like that "1998 Beatles album" thread I posted here yesterday. I'd bet if all four were still alive and recording music, they'd be sitting there whining that it doesn't sound like Revolver (but they'd still buy 5 copies).
These guys make me glad I'm not like them. If I ever turn out that way, please, just push me into on-coming traffic.

I’ll try anything. Tonight I asked Alexa to play H.E.R. to see what she was about. Snoozlefest. Hey I tried. On the way home it was ABC’s Beauty Stab. Yesterday at the gym it was The Art Of Noise. The other day it was Malcolm McLaren’s Duck Rock.
There is no excuse. With streaming, YouTube, etc there’s plenty of ways to listen. But when you’re stuck playing the same fucking Macca albums you’ll never learn.
