Yes, ladies and gentlemen, MYKE has finally chimed in: MYKE SAYS: "Well, in 2010, I had been buying so-called "audiophile" versions of CDs, all on my own, with no guidance whatsoever, past what my ears presented to me, and my son requested I find such a version of Bad Company's debut. So after a little Googling, I saw that Audio Fidelity had just released a gold disc of that very album, and that Steve Hoffman had remastered it. " Isn't his name on some of these other CDs ? " I thought to myself. A little more Googling, and here I was ! (hat tilting emoji)" Even that fucking son had to get a look-in too on this story. CUNT. Don’t MYKE’s stories always involve his son or Bad Company

The smiles library needs updated as I can not find the appropriate response to show how happy I am to be back.

I figure this is as good a topic as any for my first post. I was most likely lured into that memory hole known as the Music Corner as a result of Googling "XTC 2001 remasters" or some other nonsense. Joined in 2009 so that I could view attachments.
What a pain in the ass, haven't been able to enjoy music the same way ever since.
Thanks Shites! 🖕

Seriously - I was googling "Stereo Good Vibrations Beach Boys".

I'm pretty sure I found SHiteville in the run-up to the first bunch of Beatles remasters when I was Googling where to download the FLACs . The big so-what response I had when I got them was one of the dying gasps of my surviving Beatardom. Still the same thing I got my fill of by the time I was 14. If only they'd given the job to Steev

I doubt Aghst of Ithaca is being serious about being hitched to a moderator, but that's the case it could make this commment even more poignant. Back in 2015 on the infamous Kim Fowley thread, Aghast wrote: I always assumed Aghast Of Ithaca was a member here, due to comments like that. Surely must at least be a reader. I suspect his moderator comment was a dry joke. Definitely one of the most perceptive, articulate and wry Shites. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he's on here either; Will the real aghast send elaborate coded message and let us know you're neither Nick Kent, Danny Baker or Nik Cohn?

I probably ended up there by accident - I'll be honest and say I needed a private outlet to talk about the bits of my music collection that no reasonable person under 35 should have (or admit to friends), and that seemed a good a place as any. I promised myself when I signed up that I wouldn't a) make friends with anyone there, b) get into online arguments or c) spend too much time posting.
First one was easy, but the stupidity levels over there made the second one impossible, especially when encountering the mentailty of 'if it's made after 1979 it's garbage'. I can at least claim that they cured me of any lingering appreciation of The Beatles. And I'll be fucked if I ever post there again; this place offers a good view as the good ship Hoffman slowly sinks into the cesspool of remasturbated AOR.

Trying to find info on better masterings has always and will always be the main reason I go to that swamp. Over the last 11 years I can safely say I learned almost nothing of value about equipment from those idiots. Audio karma is much more useful for that

Knew about the place from a fellow arch troll at ledzeppelin.com, probably joined for the 1st time about 5 years ago to clarify pressings of Powerage but iirc no fucker responded. Lurked for like forever until I heard about that pinkfloyd 1965 double 7", and when I saw all the whiney pissflaps at SHiTeVil grumbling about 'only 1050 copies' and 'no copies available in AmeriKKKa', I resolved to get a couple of copies to brag about and rile 'em with...but I got carried away, and spent a week or so driving to every HMV store within a 150 mile radius to get as many copies as I could. Ended up with about 15, I think. Got banned for trolling about it, and for selling one off-marketplace via pms, which I didn't even know was verboten. Regenerated a few months later, purely to troll.
Before I joined, I had no idea who Stewie was, and to this day, I neither know nor care whether I have anything he's rubbed out.

Having got one of those 7"s straight out the gate, the sheer joy of watching frustrated SHiTEs get wound up about it was a great experience.

Having got one of those 7"s straight out the gate, the sheer joy of watching frustrated SHiTEs get wound up about it was a great experience. Yeah, big fun. You wouldn't believe the grovelling, cringeworthy pms I got...'Hey man, my wife just luuuurves Syd Floyd, this would be the perfect Holidays Gift for her'. Um, fuck YOU, man...and it's CHRISTMAS, you virtue-signalling libturd. Some were really persistent, so with a couple, I feigned submission, strung 'em along, asked for addresses etc...then, when I sensed their pre-cum was really starting to ooze, I just ghosted 'em. (I did actually sell one at cost via pm to a guy who claimed to be a paraplegic, and got banned for my munificence, admittedly inter alia.) Similar thing happened with this year's RSD mono PATGOD. idk if it's just PF, and whether it's a national trait or confined to SHiTes, but jeez, whenever there's a Euro-centric RSD or Black Friday PF release, the stench of AmeriKKKan entitlement there is overpowering. I mean, I don't even give much of a wet fart about PF any more, but at this point, it's worth getting up early to secure bragging rights, and watch 'em seethe with (literally) impotent rage.

Two-thirds of the way through this sentence I was thinking you'd gone a bit too heavy on the front-loading, but I have to say the Latin suffix is a masterstroke.
