Some of you from the old board may well have covered this guy before but as a new poater here, would like to mention user rfreeman.
I suppose I should at least give him credit for singlemindedness in the face a complete lack of innate talent. I mean, at least the guy is actually trying, right? Surely there has to be some value in perseverance in the face of indifference, absence of natural rhythm or stage presence... and in his regularly announcing visual proof of his musical achievements to the world (or some global village), without the slightest embarrassment, or sense of irony.
That's videos like this monstrosity , which he tags 'Copyright Rob Freeman'. Where upon i suppose we should commend him on his foresight of ensuring authorship, rather than laugh at his assumption that anyone could possibly want to steal it.
And when he talks about how he was the music director of a Janis Joplin tribute in a local public library, we should give him props for a sense of ambition, where some of the more artistically gifted might be prevented out of a sense of modesty or because willingness to take credit is just a little too crass. Because where did being modest and hiding lights beyond bushells ever get anyone, and why should being tone deaf and an archetype for a Randy Newman hit ever stop someone from all that? Triumph over adversity!
And when he writes "Got a new lineup of The Beagles making its debut on Wed. Can't get enough of our new singer" I guess I should think, good on him.
Except, except I just can't! I'll spare you my reasons for now.
