The Who Fillmore East 1968 just keep giving pete towshend your money for releasing things that take absolutely no work on his part. he is the second laziest man in rock and roll. how about writing something new of value........how long has it been? 1982......because if you say the horrific and intensely terrible 'endless wire' you are very very wrong. all pete townshend does now, and for the last 30+ years is re-re-re-release old stuff under pseudo names like 'deluxe' 'expanded' and the like. Why are you threadcrapping like this in a thread about an official release of unreleased material? since when is releasing a live concert of old songs considered unreleased material? do you realize how much unreleased material would be out there if we called live concerts of previously released studio recordings 'new material"? sorry, but it is NOT unreleased in any way shape or form. and, BTW, stating my opinion about something is not a threadcrap....look it up. you should know that just because someone has different opinion of something than you and they state that opinion and you disagree...it is not a threadcrap. Technically, I suppose it's not a threadcrap, but it is quite annoying. You make the exact same comments in every single thread about Who archival releases or reissues. Your opinion about this is well-known to Who fans on this forum (and other forums too), and most of us do not agree with it. Repeating this point over and over again really serves no purpose other than to annoy those of us who are interested in archival releases from this band. Is that your intent? You've made your point, repeatedly. There's not much left to discuss about it. Why not move on to a thread about an artist whose work you enjoy? To be fair, they are many unique aspects of this particular show not found on other Who live releases. but couldn't you say that about any band's live releases? they all tweak things a bit on stage, except the eagles from what i've read, no tweaking for the eagles, note for note to the studio recordings for them. so using that criteria, i guess you could say there IS 'unreleased' stuff on here...semantics are a wonderful thing. you've no clue what trolling is do you? i openly state my opinion about something, and tell why. not trolling, sorry. you can disagree, of course, but to call me a troll is just a reaction in anger because i don;t like something that you like. Thread derailing sidetrack deleted. May have missed a response or two. Helpful advice - If you have no interest in this release, your time is better spent in other threads

Knowing his strong stance on child protection, I'm surprised Huffie didn't intervene with a "hasn't Pete Townsend been through enough?" monologue.

Didn’t Townsend slither out of some paedo allegations years ago claiming a bunch of sick images on his pc were research for a book he was writing? What fucking book was that? “My Days on Tour with Gary Glitter”?!

Didn’t Townsend slither out of some paedo allegations years ago claiming a bunch of sick images on his pc were research for a book he was writing? What fucking book was that? “My Days on Tour with Gary Glitter”?! Interestingly, a British documentary crew was following the police operation which tried to take him down. In the process, they managed to capture the whole debacle on camera -- from his arrest right through to his legal team's PR blitz. Note that, in true Townshend style, he has a tough time hearing the custody sergeant's questions over the din of his tinnitus.

Pete was just looking up his favorite Scropions album. Is that a crime?

RJP is a fuck twat. Someone commented about a phone ringing in the back of a David Crosby song and someone else said, “It was probably the drug dealer calling” and RJP proceeded to rip the guy a new asshole. Really? You can dish it out but can’t take it when someone rips your hero? Fuck you, RJP, and fuck David Crosby.

Renny must a big donor to Hoffman's site. All he ever does is bitch and complain (yeah, I know a lot of SHiTEs are like that but Renny is particularly bad)- Christ knows other SHiTES have been banned for a helluva lot less than the shit Renny gets away with on a daily basis.
One more time: this guy is a fucking teacher? I feel sorry for his students. If a mass school shooting ever takes place at his school, we'll know who to blame.

Nominate 10 Artists for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famesome very very very unrealistic choices above, i never understood why people do that, i get its 'your' favorite band, and you KNOW they will never ever ever get in the rock hall but are bound and determined to throw their name out there in every thread even mentions the hall. be real, please. 10 that should be: jethro tull - because they belong in there carly simon - joni and linda and janis and grace are all in. warren zevon - simple, he was a ****ing genius doobie brothers - no reason they are not in already stephen stills solo - before you balk, just look at his output and contributions from 1966 - 1977 loggins & messina - stunning 9 album career poco - truly deserving. the forerunners of the country rock sound war - again, because they belong dan fogelberg - without question deserving of induction. 'captured angel' is a revelation into just how good he was. and cat stevens and james taylor are and number 10 is one i'm sure i forgot 10 that i would like to see, but will never get in, ever. 10cc - the greatest band that no one ever knew of. supertramp - really good band with really good albums the standells - the first punk band tommy james and the shondells - look at their catalog the turtles - another band of tremendous talent and output grass roots - see above 2 bands todd rundgren - from the nazz forward pat benetar - joan jett is in, so.....................why not lucinda williams - should have been years ago, never even mentioned in most conversations. and my personal choice for who should be and never will be: valerie carter - check out how many albums this woman appears on, and be amazed. even inducted as a "side-man' would be fine. an aside: i know their fans don't want to hear it, but the monkees will NEVER EVER get in the rock and roll hall of fame. they were a TV cast that answered an ad in a industry newspaper. stills: au go-go singer buffalo springfield CSN CSNY manassas stills-young band the rides solo -14 albums loggins & messina messina: buffalo springfield poco loggins & messina solo - 7 albums loggins loggins & messina solo - 14 albums blue sky riders 20+ singles 1 - #1 and 1 #2 fogelberg 20 albums 17 charting singles - 3 #1 i was wrong, 4 #1 singles on the adult contemporary chart: longer - was #2 on the regular chart. make love stay leader of the band believe in me 12 total top 10's on the Ac chart to boot. 6 #1's on the canadian adult contemporary chart, add: lonely in love hard to say i get that you dislike dan fogelberg, but to completely ignore his massive talent is just foolishness on your part, especially if you like california/country/acoustic rock and roll at all, you really need to give the guy another chance. now if you dislike that type of music, then i get it, but also please quit bashing the guy if you really know nothing about him, and just abhor the genre. bump. what is it that people do not get? please explain, seriously. i like their music and songs too, probably as much as anyone, but please be realistic.......just scroll above and look at some of the mega-talented artist that are not in, and then realize that you are promoting a TV cast over those people to be in 'music' hall of fame. i'm sorry, and i do not mean to offend, but really........................ no, i do not mean to offend. i mean to understand. you, and others, take it as offense, it is not. and others agree with me, i just happen to type it. and that, followed by serious question as to the monkees validity as a serious rock and roll band, is not in way, shape or form threadcrapping. if i said "the monkees stink" that would be threadcarapping, i never said that, or anything even close; i like the songs, especially on the first 2 albums. but, well, you know the but. what don't i get that monkee aficionados get? when i 'threadcrap" (your word, not mine) i always ask the same question as to what people do not get about them not being a band, and everytime i get the same "threadcrap' response and nothing more. no explanations, not reasons as to why an interviewed, screened and processed TV cast should be in the rock hall over a plethora of others who actually wrote and played their own songs on every one of their albums. very talented as a musician, yes. not so sure about his songwriting. he made a whole heck of a lot of albums that very people bought, and there is a reason for that. 15 studio albums, 6 live albums, and 6 compilations. nary a one cracked the top 100. he did however, have 2 top 10 singles on the AC chart. and 3 top 70 on the hot 100. impossible. i give up. you win. troll! really. a bit harsh, wouldn't you say. i've been here 17 years. i never hit and run and i always do my best to defend my position, not troll-like whatsoever. don't ever ****ing speak for me, ever.he chose to be ion the TV show, i am not that well read on the monkees, but i somehow feel that nesmith might have felt a little regret for doing so. money speaks very loudly though, so i get it. i recognize mike nesmith's talent 100% all i said was he did not sell well as a solo artist, his body of however, is very commendable. i am forever glad that stills had bad teeth, or he might have been in the same boat as nesmith. and you what, don;t even bother replying, because you are now on ignore. well, stills solo in the hall is based on his total influence on music form 1966 - 1977. it is a truly stunning 11 years, unparalleled buy anyone else in the history of rock music. stills - 1966 - 1977: 1966 - 1968 - buffalo springfield - 3 albums 1969 - super session - w/mike bloomfield 1969 - CSN - couch album - played just about everything on the album other than some guitars and drums. 1970 - CSNY - deja vu 1970 - stephen stills first s/t album 1971 - CSNY - 4 way street 1971 - stills II 1972 - manassas 1973 - mannassas - down the road 1975 - stills 1975 - stills live 1976 - illegal stills 1976 - stills-young band 1977 - CSN - boat album

Anyone else appreciate the irony in rjp having all his reasons for the Monkees not being in the HOF while suggesting the Grass Roots should be? I mean, isn’t the Wrecking Crew in there? That covers the people that played on both “bands” records, right?
