How old could it be? Music started in 1954. Did McCartneyism start around 1954 or was that skiffle? Either way, I'm not surprised Hoover had it in for Lennon.

One of the great things about Fats Domino is that his music was warm hearted. It wasn't cynical or hateful, somewhere along the way that got co-opted into rock music and never went away, which IMO ultimately lead to the irrelevancy of the form. People talk of the rebellion aspect of rock but from my perch here high in the trees:) the rebellion was -for- freedom not -against- humanity itself. Wrong left turn, very bad mindset. Well said, lennonfan1 (I like your user name, btw!) One of the great things about Fats, as you say, was his warm heart. He proved it was possible to be coloured and NOT sing about 'ho's' and 'bitches' and hating on the police. Who by the way do a very difficult job keeping these people in their place.

Trump has ruined the human race. Nah, the human race was already going down the fuckin' tubes long before Trump came on the scene, but he sure as hell isn't helping the situation. Just from reading the poats at Hoffman's forum it's pretty easy to figure out who the hardcore Trump supporters are over there. Especially if they use the same avatars over at Breitbart

Well, yeah. That, and according to Epstein, Lennon gave a great reach-around. So, no wonder.

Big loss. Not as well known to the public as the artists whose music he arranged, but arguably more important to many of those tracks than the name artists themselves. RIP I also think that if Elton John were erased from all Elton John albums, they'd sound better. I never got the love for Paul Buckmaster. He took serviceable rock songs and drowned them in sweet strings. "Moonlight Mile" is the only song of his where I see the strings as essential to the song. He kinda saves "Terrapin Station" from the Grateful Dead, who had no idea where to go after the verses. But except for those flukes, most of his work was sweetening up Elton John's early albums, as if they weren't lugubrious enough. However, he went on to provide syrup to the most 'adult contemporary' artists around: Kenny Loggins, Train, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Jesse McCartney... I understand why the SHites need him to take the edge of Elton's albums, but occasionally the critics would fawn over his strings too, when they always seemed so unnecessary to me.

Those fucking retards. I have spent the last 20 minutes seeking confirmation of something that supposedly happened last night. The only place this death is being reported is on the Hoofman forum. I feel like such a maroon.

Just wait until you try to find independent confirmation of Hoofy's passing outside of his forum.

After years of alcohol abuse, it finally looks like David Crosby...Cassidy is about to get his very own RIP thread at SH.tv.
The question now is, how many poats will it take before an oblivious SHite starts mourning the end of CSN instead of the PF?
So with that in mind, I'm proud to present the Stereo Central "I Can't Hear Your Heartbeat" David Cassidy/Crosby RIP pool.
All you need to do is to choose what will happen first:
1) Someone will mourn Crosby instead of Cassidy 2) Someone will state "this one hurts" (for Cassidy) 3) Someone will state "this one hurts" (while thinking it was Crosby who kicked it)
Tiebreaker: Name the SHite who points out "it was Cassidy, not Crosby!" in the event #1 wins.

Holy cow! SHite "Jrr" is really chomping at the bit to get the discussion going with his new David Cassidy deathwatch thread: David Cassidy in Critical ConditionTotal organ failure. He was in an induced coma but is awake with family at the moment. Doesn't look good. I'm one of those that still listens to his music with the Wrecking Crew...fantastic pop songs that sound good and were well produced. Thoughts and prayers are with him. As someone said elsewhere, his music is the soundtrack of my youth. Yes, I purposely avoided using the band's name he was in! Seems like an insult to the quality music they put out. I love how he name drops the Wrecking Crew, while purposely avoiding the Partridge Family name. Why? For some misplaced idea of getting SHite street cred? To avoid "looking like a wuss" among his peers? Classic SHite move! (The "cannot be named" bit reminds me that the Chappy Award season is fast approaching.)
