I like records, I like the feel, the history, and yes, the fondleabilty of them, I've got a good record player, that I've spent time calibrating, etc, I've got a record cleaning machine, and a dedicated phono stage that cost more than the (second hand) power amplifier. But when I wanna listen to a certain track, I sometimes, often to be honest, I just watch it on Youtube, played on cheap speakers, than get it off the shelf as it's more convenient.Dewey will have a reply to that as soon as he checks in with Dice Clay on YouTube

That’s what you remind me of, the lingering drip of piss that keeps coming back.

But more often than not I will stream music or put on a cd, because it sounds cleaner and there’s less hassle. Some folks here can’t seem to separate fact from fiction and their feelings. They remind me of poaters at another site... I guess I’ll just try to fuck off harder.

I have enough clutter in my place. I don't need to buy vinyl.

I enjoy convenient music just as much as the next guy. But give me the right pressing of McCartney III and I feel I'm in ROCKDOWN with Paul.

Quakerism
This is from the dunce_hall_keeper RSD thread, and I’ve seen other people repeat the “plants are so backed up” thing this week. The first Friday in December, I bought a record that finished recording on Sept 7. In January I picked up two new releases that had their lacquers cut in October (the folks at Chicago Mastering Service etch the day they mastered/made the lacquer into the dead wax). Earlier today I was reading the liner notes to a Numero Group release that came out this month; the liner notes were dated January 2024. These are brand new indie records ranging from self-released to 12” singles to archival releases of obscure R&B/disco. The backlog is over. SHiTes can stop pretending they care about anything other than their major label reissues.

I've eaten an alternating rotation of mcdonalds, taco bell, and mayonnaise slather hot dogs this week and I can confirm that there is no backlog

Thank you Andrew J as I'm sure you're reading this board, if not posting here. Only option, sheesh.

That's not really such a bad option.
The only release I was keen on this time was The Fall's Country On The Click. I just ordered it from a flipper online and ended up paying $8 more than retail. Big deal. The flipper did all the leg work for me.

8 dollars in exchange for not having to wait in line with a bunch of smelly record collectors?

One asshole is showing pictures of 30 + albums purchased followed by numerous "Nice Haul" poats.
Well done Mr. more money than brains, walk proudly.

And the music?
They seem very excited to get Cool Cat on 7".
Despite everyone hating Hot Space. I've always had a soft spot for side 1, but I wouldn't buy a single of that song. Wonder if the B side is the version where David Bowie brings his 'Bum-Bums' to the party?
