Ugh, beer snobs are the worst. Where I live, precious little brewpubs and taprooms seem to be on every block, filled with bearded fatsos debating the merits of dry hopping. I cannot wait for the craft beer bubble to burst.

What is WRONG with these people?
This thread about the Record Store Day release of Trout Mask Replica is almost parodic in its stupidity.
Frinlygreener: “I see that a vinyl re-issue is planned for record store day.I very much doubt that I will be able to source one locally even if I were prepared to wait in line "on the day". This may be conjecture...but are these record store day issues strictly limited to said event,or do they become commercially available in eventuality?”
Dreaddazzman: “It's listed as an RSD First title, which means it should be made available after the day.”
Phil Tate: “Where do you find out which titles are RSD First?”
Nettlebed: “Says it right on the website.
There is absolutely no need for anybody to line up on RSD to get Trout Mask, unless they need to have it/hear it right away. It will be re-released later in the year apart from RSD.”
Under any normal circumstances, that would answer the question and the thread would die. But no. Reading comprehension is seemingly beyond the average poater. Especially the OP who asks
“But will a mere mortal be able to buy it?”
HE JUST TOLD YOU THAT YOU COULD, YOU FOOL.
Not good enough. JHC3 seems to think it’s all a big lie:
“Ok, so it seems that this is a wish/hope etc but nothing has been verified.”
YES IT HAS. IT’S ON THE RSD SITE.
Then a whole shitty back and forth about Third Man and a CD release. This is why I’ll happily pay a premium to resellers for the stuff I want (confession: there’s quite a few things this year), so I don’t have to waste my Saturday sharing space with cretins.

I'll admit that sometimes I do want to go all MYKE on people and tell them to just read back a few posts where their question got answered. There is some mind-numbing repetition in some most threads.

There's a few folks there, like All Down The Line, who don't seem to have even a passing grasp on reading comprehension, and it really derails whatever retarded conversation about the Rolling Stones that was going on.

Yo, pinhead. It's called the music business. They don't give the shit away. And here's another clue - no one is forcing you buy it. It's called making your own decision.

This is very sad. A man that waits in lines for overpriced vinyls and thinks the world is interested in this “experience” is a man that has nothing to share, tha lived such a mediocre life so all he can talk about is this. He can’t talk about politics because he’s ignorant, he can’t muse about love because he is alone or trapped in a failed marriage, he can’t talk about music because he has no sensibility and prefers to drool over gear, he can’t talk about work because he’s old and, like Myke, retired. All that is left is writing detailed accounts on being in lines waiting for music stores to open so he can spend money on useless stuff.

Brian Jones avatar = moron. Just like with Ian Anderson or Hendrix.

Some of these people are incapable of thinking on their own, or making a lucid decision.
Roll out the Macca lunch box thread where people were buying and regretting it at the same time. "I'm a completist" -- um, well just stop being one and your damn problems are solved.

“I’ve never been a fan of RSD. I have a love/hate thing going on with the "vinyl" revival. I love the fact they are still being pressed. My 17 year old daughter buys records. I tell her she's part of the problem. I hate the fact that some used records are now way overpriced. Can anyone tell me why a US pressing of the Kinks Lola vs Powerman is now a $50 record?”

Then they're playing them on non-forum approved vinyl players. Then they're buying the wrong vinyls. Now they're diving up the price of the vinyls the Hoofmen want. Will the madness ever end???

Labels should just press records that I want, at very low prices. And used stores should only sell stuff to me.
Damn kids!

I hope that the Canuckistanis will let me across the border (I'll even bring my vaccination card) so I can stand in line to buy that Uriah Heep rekkid. (I didn't bother to check if the USAian RSD list has dropped yet)
In all seriousness, my approach to RSD is I go to my local store to support them (many towns the size of mine no longer have an indie record store), but I don't bother getting there early and lining up. If there's something I want that the early birds didn't get, I'll buy it, or maybe some other rekkid that's not even RSD.
