FWIW Sockpuppet # 4 was Tom Port, Mr Hot Stamper. Really? I thought Tom Port was an actual guy. Mind ya, I'm surprised Steve hasn't started an account pretending to be Geoff Emerick or somebody like that. As COLA said Humorem was not a sock puppet, the post I quoted implied that he was. It is hard to keep track of all of the sock puppet accounts though.

At what point will he raise Lamb Chop from the dead? I bet she fuelled a few SHite adolescent fantasies.

And lest we forget -- Kent Teffeteller, who is now McLover. He had an extremely elaborate, oddly specific fake universe in which he lived. And who can forget this thread: My radio group caught fire!
Really stressed this morning! Our studio building caught fire at around 3:20 this morning. Totally burned to the ground. I lost my laptop due to it running emergency automation and all but 15 of my CD collection. I also lost over 15,000 of my LP collection as well as all the broadcast equipment. Is suspected to be arson. My personal equipment and collection may not be covered by the station insurance. So PM messages may be slower to be answered and posts may be slower to be replied to. I am posting this from the library in Athens. I have around 100 LP's and my open reel collection and the home stereo gear is OK. We are still on air from satellite services at our transmitter site. Just wanted to get this off my chest and let you folks know about our loss. No people hurt or killed! I also had to sink around $1,000 into my old Nissan. Stress City! He was called out on this crap after just a few consolation posts: Tubeman: That's a great little town, it's where I grew up and began my radio career. Kent, I've tried to help out by contacting old friends there at WLAR, WYXI, Cat Country and all the others as well as The Daily Post Athenian newpaper in Athens, I also checked in Etowah and Cleveland but no one has heard anything of any fire. Is your station in another market? DillyDipper: Funny you should mention that...I googled yesterday, in both web and news searches for your call letters, your name and group name. Then I checked Wiki and AllAccess. For a broadcasting facility, there sure doesn't appear to be too many who actually know about it... Tubeman: I just got off the phone with some friends at (the radio station in question), they said there has been no fire, I even talked to a bud who was in the studio on the air.

And "Kent Teffeteller", who in reality may or may not have had spina bifida, as did his wife and kid, could give Kaathesteve a run for his money anytime with his constant and overly specific mentions of his many houses, radio stations, luxury cars, Glocks, cameras, priceless Steinways and McIntosh equipment. Hi,
McIntosh snobby, not for me when I was young and could only admire. In the days of the McIntosh clinics, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Gow, and Mr. Corderman were superb to this disabled music lover. The hi-fi/record shop I frequented let me listen to as much gear as I desired and were superbly nice. The McIntosh people bought me many records as a kid, took me out to eat, gave me many nice souvenirs, and treated me like a king. They also taught me how to listen well. This is when I was only 9 or 10 years old at that. The relationships and friends I made are priceless. The pleasure I have had as a McIntosh owner is also the best experience I have had. I still get first rate service and I have never had a new McIntosh component. I still have many warm feelings from those years. I have had new gear from other makes and never the quality of service from most makes I get from McIntosh or the friendliness from the company. I only hope to get to visit Binghamton and see the Laboratory.

Tubeman can't be dead -- no one dies over there:-------------------------------------------- Gary said: ↑ Dead Members: 3500+ What an imagination! -------------------------------------------- Andy Mitri said: So in over 18 years, you don’t think that less than five percent of your primarily elderly members may have passed away? Is there some kind of secret to immortality hidden in this forum?

Bit of a whinging fucking maggot along the lines of O Don Piano, if memory serves. No, I'm not sorry, either. Hey, like Dylan said: "They can talk about me plenty after I'm gone!"

That idiot has been clogging up lots of other forums for years with his bullshit. Somehow he just happens to own a copy of every variation of every single 45 or LP ever released in the US, has heard/owned every single piece of classic hi-fi gear ever made, yadda yadda.

Just an oldie but goodie. After rereading this entire thread, I must say, I don't really understand something. Steve Hoffman can thread up the RCA "Dash 1" master mix of "Elvis Is Back" on a tape machine and hear an amazing sounding master tape just waiting to be "polished". BMG and Mr. Jorgensen cue up the same tape and panic because it sounds so bad that they have to "no-noise" it, and generally wreck it, sound wise (IMO). How can that be? Steve Hoffman can thread up the "Aqualung" master tape and coax out of it an amazing sounding CD, whereas the 25th Anniv. release using the same tape sounds dreadful (IMO). How can that be? Steve Hoffman can thread up the "Highway 61 Revisited" tape and coax out of it an amazing sounding CD, whereas Sony can't seem to get it to sound right. How can that be? I could go on with a hundred more titles. Why can't everything sound like an SH version? I'm tired of spending my money on bad sound! Is this "worshiping at the alter of Steve"? Yeah, I guess so, but as Mr. Einstein states: "The DCC Elvis versions are vastly superior in terms of every aspect of their sound to the RCA/BMG versions. I don't understand what jiggering RCA did when they mastered these boxes. Fake digital echo? I don't know." All I can say is: Thank you Steve. I know that at this very moment you and your co-workers are trying to make nice with BMG so you can't comment here, but we truly do appreciate the efforts you have made to bring us good sound. Thanks!

BMG and Mr. Jorgensen doubtlessly did their transfer in a proper studio, on a professional tape machine capable of reproducing recorded frequencies many times higher than the top frequency of human hearing, and probably to a high definition digital format. Mr. Hoffman, meanwhile, probably plugged a 1958 Wollensak with relapped heads into his DAT machine via some of his "custom" (ie defective) cables. In his bedroom. It will have sounded just like it did in the studio. Dull.

Here's what Mr. Jorgensen had to say about the DCC, after the label had insinuated to have used better masters than RCA. And

Weird how everyone of these people who were actually in the room when the mastering was done, know the tape library encyclopedically and sometimes have spent decades with them are all liars and sages like STeVE and Mikey with their ears, their ears, their rock and roll ears (pal) are the only ones who know the truth!
