User bajaed wants to know a good way to burn in his new power cord so his stereo will be the best it can be. I'm surprised no one has suggested tying one end to a rafter in his garage, and the other end around his neck.

Imagine thinking that this ritual, which would probably provide infinitesimal improvement if anything at all, is being worried about by a group of people who can't differentiate between Lennon and McCartney's voices.

I saw that thread. Good Lord. Power cables have a sound?.....yeah, right. I saw one guy poated that he should plug it into a refrigerator. I am certain that after at least 1000 hours of "burn in" the bass will tighten up and the midrange will get sweeter. It will also keep his groceries at the optimum temperature and will ensure no carcinogens are released into the food.

Sorry, but have YOU ever tried out a $10K power cord? Huh?? Then how can you POSSIBLY say it doesn't sound better?
I paid $25K for a new SHUNYATA power cord for my SHERWOOD and now when I put it in T-P MODE I can clearly hear that John (our Rock'n'Roll Boy) was intentionally singing backwards at the end of "Rain."

But those cords are useless if you don't build your own substation so you can condition your own AC current.

That's Tonmeister's best argument. No, I've never spent ANY extra money on a power cord. Mostly because I've never lost one or bought equipment that didn't come with one. These guys talk about the power company have "drift," too. So their turntables don't spin at the right speed. Amazingly, even with this drift, their computers seem to work ok, and they kind of rely on the clock inside to play those high rez music files that are really worth paying double for. Furutech and Shunyata have got that market totally sussed.

Doesn't one have to isolate or elevate the cord beforehand? Asking for a friend.

And they say this while ignoring the fact that they have a Rega (which plays fast) and forgot to put the talcum powder on their $400 "upgrade path" belt!

A lot of these guys’ problems would be solved if they switched to fly fishing. They could obsess over that to the inth degree whilst getting fresh air and marginal exercise.

Yes, I know this is a nightmare topic, but just want to hear if you tested and heard different power cords on your system? I'm looking at picking up some used Jena Labs power cords and am curious about my future A/B testing. I did, once. My standard (came with my amp) cord and a Kubala-Sosna Emotion power cord. I felt the K-S cord delivered more dynamics, better defined bass, but I could just be full of s***. Steve, let us confirm. Just to clear things up, you are full of shit.
