I'm really enjoying this.
Synthfreek says, "Average listeners don’t even deserve to smell my farts. Nothing but peasants."
Now, he's obviously joking. But still, it's funny 'cuz it's true.
Thorensman steps up knocks one out of the park:
Early influences affect us i believe.
It affects me.
I grew up listening to primarily class a.
Most radios were based on this .
Most used EL84 pentode valve .
This has a sweet clean sound quality.
Now in the 70?s Solid state was the name of the game . These produced
Horrendous ammounts of TID
(Transient Intermodulation Distortion )
This sharpened the sound. Once you get used to class.B sound you may find class Asoft or uninteresting
So when you decide , this will dictate
The type of SQ you consider fitting
For your ultimate system,
Class A is the most faithful but many will find it dull and crave the Fireworks
That class b provides .
Has anyone actually listened to live versus recorded sound.
I find real music can be soft in the bass and soundstaging poor.
So real
Music may not sound as good as. A well
Mixed recording, and this again will
Have a bearing .
That just looks better in italics, doesn't it? Have a bearing, y'all.
Allied333 really nails what sets the audiophile apart:
Remember this for the average listener. Audiophiles have trained ears, the general public (general listener) does not. So, they do not pay attention to the sound in any detail. Almost anything besides a clock radio sounds ok to them. Their car radio system may be the best quality they hear.
I'm considering signing up for audiophile ear training. I'm sure Shakti has something. Maybe I can get Steve and Warren Jarrett to come to my house and train my ears? I'm sure I can borrow a Yoga mat or something. Anyway, the thread is gold, if you ask me.
