Seems harmless. AFAIK, there are no recorded instances of obsessive US Beatles fans taking them too seriously and acting irrationally and/or murdering them.

It's the British fans I'd be worried about. As I said in one or another of the "US vs UK" debates over there British fans get so butthurt over the U.S. albums you'd think somebody painted a picture of JFK raping the Queen or something. They're just record albums, guys. Talk about first world problems...

I once made a mistake in my early days at SHiteland and mentioned I prefered the US versions of the early Beatles albums.
Almost got lynched for heresy...
I still prefer them. (The fact STevE hates them is another point in their favor.)

I once stated in a similar thread that I just like what I like. It got ugly.

(The fact STevE hates them is another point in their favor.) Oh yeah, try saying you prefer the American Revolver LP to the British (like I do)...you'll see what happens! They're just records, people. Put the fucking thing on and enjoy it, whether it's the British "It's what The Beatles intended!!!!" version or the American "abomination". But I know: given that most SHiTEs prefer to bitch about music rather than enjoy it for what it is, that's just too fuckin' much to ask for, isn't it?

I seem to recall the US Revolver took a few liberties with the track-listing.
Eleanor Rigby My Bonnie Please Mr. Postman Komm, Gob Mir Deine Hand Sweet Georgia Brown Tomorrow Never Knows Ain't She Sweet Thank You Girl Komm, Gob Mir Deine Hand (reprise)

Side 2 was all lush orchestral arrangements of Jim McCartney compositions, conducted by George Martin. Ahhh, the rock 'n' roll soundtrack of my sun-dappled Sixties American youth...

Side 3 was truly groundbreaking: 22 minutes of Yoko record-scratching while John read the classified ads out loud in the background.

But I know: given that most SHiTEs prefer to bitch about music rather than enjoy it for what it is, that's just too fuckin' much to ask for, isn't it? "It's what the Beatles intended!!!!" What a fucking laugh. You think the Beatles were bitching about getting royalty checks for three US albums that had used to be two UK LPs? "Hmm...lessee...50% more money for no extra work? Whatever should we do...?" It was only later that Lennon began bellyaching about it – probably during the period right after the Beatles broke up when he complained about absolutely everything. As for Revolver, if you've got those three songs on Yesterday and Today (as fans in the US would have), why the fuck would you want them on the later LP? (I only ever listen to the US versions of the Beatles' catalog whenever I'm in the mood for their music. That also includes the shortened Revolver. [And "The Beatles' Second Album" is a blast. Pruned of turgid crap like "When There was You", the thing really cooks!] Actually, you'd think the SHites would be championing Capitol (and the devil incarnate himself, Dave Dexter Jr.) when you consider this: 1) Capitol LPs contain the singles UK fans had to purchase separately. 2) Capitol gave the SHites' heroes more royalties due to squeezing extra LPs out of the Parlophone originals. 3) Often, US fans got Beatles material earlier than UK fans (i.e. the Revolver tracks) due to their friends at Capitol. 4) Dave Dexter's added reverb often does make the dry-sounding originals better. (The SHites would never admit that though.) Someone should troll the SHites with this list. The fallout would be fun to witness.

Would love to know what Macca thinks of these obsessives.
Must fall into the whole Shatner "get a life" area of thinking.

Devastation cuold be all around them; bombs, limbs being torn off, people homeless in the streets, men turning up in grey suits and arresting wives and children and these Shites would just sit there poating one long winded and inconsequential poat after another about the Revolver track listing on UK and US pressings. That's the ones that aren't busy booing the Hall of fame for not inducting Tull until now, or making voodoo dolls of the Pulitzer prize judges!
