I'm reasonably certain that Wiseblood is posting lengthy diatribes about Rhino Records in a Monkees thread, and then agreeing with himself in equally lenghty diatribes as Danofdune. In case you were wondering. Poor wiseblood. Another one lost to the darkshite. (throws a stack of old CD-Rs away in honor of the fallen homies)

Well, it's finally happened, a McCartney release I have no interest in. Couldn't even bother to put the VPN on and hear the release early. I'd love to hear demos, or early takes, flubs, breakdowns, even audio of the orchestral section recording process. But the basic tracks? Yawn. I'm baffled why I'm not interested. I'll stream tomorrow, hoping to be surprised. I'm with you. We're headed into very strange territory with Beatles and McCartney releases. We already had the Deluxe archive set of this which, at the time and now, seemed rather short on material, but it was a nice offering in an upgrade (even though I've got 4 other versions of this album in my collection). Short of those damn stolen demos that were likely ditched and destroyed the very night they were taken from Paul, I'm not sure what else there would have been in the vault of real interest. And what the hell is an "underdubbed mix"? I get the play on words. That's not lost on me, but come on...this is utter stupidity. This offering is NOT of any interest to me. I'm on record over here as having returned my Red and Blue Beatles set from a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe how horrific those remixes sounded on Red. The life was absolutely stripped from those songs and I have no use for remix sets if they lack the intrinsic qualities of the originals. What exactly is the point? Great, I can hear the sound of a Ringo stick on the side of a snare drum or the snap on the drum head. Whoop-dee-doo. If I have to be spoonfed another lame AF YouTube video about THAT kind of thing being so frigging important that we need to own the sets just for that, I'm gonna lose it. What else are we seeing that is making me really get into a negative territory with Apple? $400 shirts with Beatles logos. Never-ending Yellow Submarine kitsch. Box sets that are shaping up to be subpar for one reason or another from historical facts or lack of content. Abbey Road was light. Let It Be, well, we know what they have for those sessions that could have been cleaned up and while Get Back is FANTASTIC, the box set was drab. Revolver was pretty good, but I'm still kinda annoyed with simple things like the information about Rain and the "true" speed mix which - and I'll die on this hill - there is no way that is correct. Sorry. It just doesn't make sense from a guitarist/songwriter angle to the way Ringo played. Long story long, we're getting into territory that is just dreadful with release quality. I don't need 70 different version of McCartney III. I don't need the ReImagined set. I don't need a third anniversary edition of that. How about finish the archive series at LEAST with the Wings years? Do the 80s output. Finish the 90s. There are holes in that project that if he doesn't fill them accordingly I'll be pretty bummed, especially with all these lame color variations that seem to be more important. It's going to be a difficult run as a fan moving forward. I love the Beatles and Paul for, what do you know...THE MUSIC. I don't need or want the kitsch. It's not important to me. And I guarantee that at some point today I'll get another email about Yellow Sub crap. Keep it. You know exactly what I'm getting at with the term "underdubbed". It's an idiotic take on 'unfinished' and a new word. We don't use this term in the professional audio world. It's just a cute way to wrap more crap into yet another re-release. These unfinished mixes are nothing spectacular. Interesting for perhaps one listen, but they really aren't remarkably different from the final mixes. Let's be real.

I guess I basically agree with some of this points, but shuuuuuuuuuut the fuuuuuuuuuuuck uuuuuuuuuup. I didn't buy this bullshit either, but you don't see me writing essays about it. Maybe I should, so I can be on record?
