So Hooferman ends up answering a Beatles discussion by quoting his own comment from 18 months ago as fact. Fuck you STeVE, you egocentric piece of mullet shit. “I’ve seen, I’ve seen.” Fuck you. What did you see, a fucking Viewmaster slide? You lying sack of monkey shit, just go back under the rock you came from and shave your fucking face, too. No idea why this irritates me but I think it’s just his “know it all” attitude. If the worthless sack of shit was worth anything he would have a real job instead of sucking on Karla’s toes and polishing her shoe collection all day. And the clueless fucker just posted the other day how he is listening and enjoying the Capitol singles and how good they sound. Must have been a Vicodin moment - fucking mullet breath mother MYKE fucker. Hoofy: Hooferman: The Beatles - Capitol and EMI Tapes

Personally I think part of it is that Steve is so fed up with how contaminated his forum gets with All Things Beatle that he's basically trolling the Beatards at this point. It seems to me that it's very rare these days that Steve makes a comment about The Beatles that isn't negative...you just know that he wants to quote John Lennon from 1980: "All this Beatles talk is boring me to death." So why doesn't he do it? It's his goddamn forum, after all. Hardly, in this interview he says he likes The Beatles more than any other music artist and they are the ones he wants to listen to and remaster the most. www.vintagerock.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77:steve-hoffman-producer&catid=3:interviews&Itemid=4

As if Apple would let Hoofy anywhere NEAR the Beatles master tapes. Never gonna happen.
Even less likely now that he seems to be doing his best to make a complete asshole of himself.

Lotta bitterness there...after all, DCC did "almost" get to remaster The Beatles catalog, maybe there's a bit of sour grapes there. If, that is, you believe DCC almost got The Beatles, which I don't. I just think Steve is sick of hearing about The Beatles and every uninteresting facet of their drug addled lives. Can't say that I blame him, to be honest.

DCC was active from when? Early 1990s? By that time, the Beatles' catalogue was under the control of a rejuvenated Apple, who haven't granted outside licences to issue Beatles records on other labels since they took over. If any audiophile label stood a chance of issuing audiophile Beatles CDs, it would be MFSL. They had successfully marketed the recordings on LP a decade before, when the catalogue was under the control of EMI. Perhaps they tried, but if they did even they got knocked back. DCC? No chance.

A bit earlier. Discogs has their first release as 1987. Your point still stands though. Just going by wikipedia, the MFSL set stopped production in 1985. That was probably it, from there on everything was gonna be in-house.

5 layers of tube distortion/compression and massive sample clipping is not the kind of novelty talent that the Beatles catalog needs

Miss the DCC heyday! I’m an old guy, I only stream at the gym or backyard, all physical media in the house. PS. The dog woke up so I blasted Crossroads then the first disc. PSS. I wish you had extended Passing The Time to the even longer rocking finish. There was an end piece to PASSING THE TIME actually. I left it off, felt it was pushing it. After the organ ending it goes into the uptempo "passing the tiiiimee" part again for about a minute before fading out. I have a feeling that may have just been an alternative to the crossfade used in the final version, rather than a piece for the end of the song. It's exactly the same as what's at 2:04 in the song, and eventually fades after about 36 seconds. Maybe a proposed 45 edit that was ignored? Ooops! No magically extended version on STEVE's version only, just a repeated fragment.
Hey Steve, While we're on this subject, you once mentioned you heard another live version of Crossroads from the same set of March 1968 shows that brought us the album version. Any idea if that still exists? Bill L. would know, I'm sure, yes. He had an alternate bunch of shows he got from the live engineer. What the heck was his name? Ah, Halverson. Halverson's rough mixes have been released, which were from the fall shows. I don't think he had any mixes from the March shows.
And pawned again, in the same thread no less.
