[Fade in]
Scene: It's a dark and stormy night. The set is a brick-walled dungeon/laboratory, containing many tables that are filled with bubbling beakers, test tubes, Jacob's ladders, and other stereotypical horror-movie tropes.
In the middle of the room sits a wheeled gurney with an aged patient strapped to it.
The camera tracks over to the restrained subject, where we see it's the story's protagonist, Mr. Steve Hoffman.
Off screen is heard rather demented-sounding soft cackles and indeterminate muttering.
This sound gets increasingly louder as a white-coated figure (face obscured) ambles over to our prone hero on the gurney.
[Unknown figure, speaking in a thick German accent] "Veddy good, I see you are finally avake. I vanted to explain the procedure to you before vee begin."
The unknown figure then lightly fingers the delicate folds of wrinkled skin that make up the patient's neck.
[German-accented voice continues off screen]"Vile everything is set from a visual aspect, you vill soon be perfect for my needs."
The camera, from the patient's point of view, pans up the blood-stained doctor's coat until it pauses a beat on the name badge that reads "C. Cheng, S.H.I.S."
Resuming the pan up, the camera reaches the leering face of the mad German doctor.
"OK, Mr. Hoffman, it vill just be a moment until vee can begin vith your...
tracheotomy..!"
