I'm really would like to understand, I'm not trolling, but I see no great meaning in this song or video. Is he criticizing hip hop culture? Has he just bought into the narrative that police in this country are randomly hunting black people for sport? What is the meaning?

Please refer to any of the several links in the OP that dig into the symbolism presented in the video.

Wait a minute you say that there are these deep layers of meaning and not a moment is wasted, but when I sincerely ask you to elaborate you clam up. Why start a thread if you don't want to talk about it? I'm not trying to put you on the spot, if you enjoy something you don't need to explain it to me or anyone else, but people are reacting to this video like it's the "ode to joy" and I just don't see it. Look at it this way if you and I are standing in the desert and you say "look at all the sand" and I say "sand, what are you talking about I don't see any sand" how easy would it be for you to demonstrate to me that there is sand all around us? My point is with all these layers of meaning it should simple to point some of it out.

Perhaps this artist has crystallized the point of the content in a way that's better suited to reach a broader audience, and that's why it's getting such attention. Or, perhaps he has a better publicist. Or maybe it's a combo of the two and may include other reasons.

Now, you can call me a troll if you must but this is my brief interpretation of this video.
Blacks = Victim / White = Oppressor.
This does not accurately describe the problem in America in regard to the black community nor does it do anything what so ever to improve it. What it does do is to make the problem worse by exploiting the victim narrative there by deepening the very racial divide it claims to protest. The plight of the black community in America, particularly that of black males, will never improve until we address the issue honestly and without bias.
Simply put, this video and the attitudes that spawned it are part of the problem not the solution.

I just re-watched the video for about the sixth time and I see literally none of this.

It is not shown directly, but it has been heavily inferred.

How is it inferred? I find materialism and superficiality to be on trial here, not racial oppression.

I was referring to the articles linked in the OP. As far as this being a critic of materialism and superficiality I kind of thought that too at first, but the deeper I looked I just found the same old tired victim narrative.
