I love the studio version of Coming Up. But the live version? Meh. The last line up of Wings, while technically proficient, was incredibly schlocky and pedestrian sounding. The previous line up sounded perfect for the big stadiums. This line up sounded like the muzak that would be piped into a supermarket. As an admitted beatard I still find some charm in it but objectively as a band they sucked and were incredibly lame and boring. I can’t believe the live version of the song is the one that became a #1 hit in the USA. The studio version is just so much more interesting. What’s more, I’d say the “Coming Up” promotional video is the only one of McCartney’s I actually like. The technology used to create it fascinated me, and it still holds up 44 years later. His videos do generally suck, don't they? I don't mind the Helen Wheels one but it's as simple as you get. It works though.

Can someone move this thread to the Maccatard section? Thanks.

I like this one. My god, just that look on his face in the thumbnail makes me want to pulverize it.

I'm gonna be that contrarian asshole and say that I actually like that song, and my enjoyment of solo McCartney begins and ends with Maybe I'm Amazed. Yet, the version to beat is the one played by the Faces for the BBC.

As long as it stays non-existent, the bastards can run up as many fucking pages as they like.

If six months after this drops they come out with multiple colored vinyl variations, we'll know they're just fucking with the Beatards. The label must still be laughing about that fucking Egypt Station suitcase they put out a few years back. No offense to anyone here who may have bought it, but I can't imagine anyone over age 10 would want this thing (other than SHites on the lower end of the Beatard spectrum).
