I bet it's one of those free carriage clocks you used to get when you opened a bank account. Prick.

A solid silver clock? Wow, gotta be worth at least $20! With "Made In China" written on the bottom of thing.

The Mobile Fidelity guys have already told the story about the Orbison "original masters" Hoffman did not actually have.
Exactly. The Roy Orbison comp was the juice that got Rob LoVerde and Shawn Britton banned from SHiTEville. STEVE did not run anything through any kind of vintage Ampex, Beepex or Ceetex thing, because Rob LoVerde - at the time still at Sony - ran him off a DAT dub. That''s right. Hooofbag used a DAT as his source for the Orbison CeeDee. An announcement on the MFSL web site indicating the imminent release of the Roy Orbison Greatest Hits CeeDee "For the first time from the original master tapes" started the ball rolling. Unwary SHiTEs gathered at Daddy's cesspool and pleaded "how can that be? Our Saviour hath already done so long, long ago"! "Those fucking MoFi guys! What gumption do they have to make such outrageous claims" !!! "Sue the fuckers"!!!! So Daddy was pontificating about his impeccable mastering skills, spreading his usual horse shit about two-track masters vs. three track masters, but made a bad mistake in mentioning Rob LoVerde by name in the thread. So in pops Rob and drops the bomb about providing STEVE with the DAT copy for his project. BOOM! Rob's account was instant history. Enter Shawn Britton who politely asked just why the fuck Rob was hustled out the back gate. He broke no forum rule that anyone could see. Well, that was Shawn's first and last poat in the toilet bowl, as he too was then quickly removed from the membership in good standing. Sweet memories.

This reminds me of the time one of the new McCartney remasters included a picture of the master tape log, and out of all the times the tapes were pulled, none seemed to correspond to the DCC. So, unless STeVE had access to some secret master tape that no one else ever used...

Flat Transfer's link should be required reading for any SHiite. Those poats were not there long and most missed all of the fun.

I remember seeing Shawn Britton being namechecked in a poat over there a couple of days ago and thinking, "Ooh, this poat isn't going to last long..."

Steve: What kind of clock is that? Bill: This solid silver clock? Steve: Yeah. Bill: This is an astronaut solid silver clock. It tells time upside down. They use this in space. Steve: Wow! That's the astronaut solid silver clock. I heard about that. Where did you get it? Bill: Oh it was a gift. Steve: Cause sometimes I write in bed and I have to turn and lean on my elbow to see my puny clock. Bill: Take the solid silver clock. Steve: Oh no. Bill: Go ahead. Steve: I couldn't Bill: Come on, take the solid silver clock! Steve: I can't take it. Bill: Do me a personal favor! Steve: No, I'm not... Bill: Take the solid silver clock! Steve: I cannot take it! Bill: Take the solid silver clock! Steve: Are you sure? Bill: Positive! Take the solid silver clock! Steve: O.K. Thank you very much. Thank you. Gee, boy! John Oteri: Bill, what are you doing? Bill: Stop it!

If the clock is solid, how do the fingers go round?

If the clock is solid, how do the fingers go round? It's silver.

A solid silver clock sounds impractical. How would the mechanism be able to move totally encased in a silver block?
