I would like to know what kind of parents let their kids hug the pizza guy? Drunk parents who serve pizza for dinner I’m guessing.

I’ve had every low paying job on earth. At no time could I afford to be an audiophool.

Delivering pizza for six years using my own car decked out with a decent sound system I installed myself. I was a top driver and got along with the managers most of the time working at around six competing pizza places over those six years. Loved being greeted with hugs from kids as I handed the pizza to the parents at their homes. Hated being in the store waiting for a delivery. Always felt uneasy standing around looking for something to do so I wouldn't get the stink eye from the manager where he/she would give me something to do that would be worse than if I just found something to look busy. Didn't like the belittling of order takers and pizza makers by the manager mostly at Dominos which was run almost in a militant fashion. Not as much fun working for that chain compared to a mom & pop in Houston, TX which had a very interesting mix of personalities and characters that I swear would've made for an entertaining sitcom. Loved that place and the people. Delivery drivers were prized by all the different pizza places I worked but noticed I made the same amount across all of them no matter how much I hustled. Each paid compensation either in miles or per delivery and not one would give a driver a raise. All of them paid minimum wage. Several years after getting out, saw in the news Dominos was allowing drivers to unionize. So I was right about what appeared to be collusion among all concerning compensation. Six different jobs in six years..? Good lord....

WLL, the gift that keeps on giving:
Al Jolson:
Does anyone here have anything to say about Am Jolson? I stumbled onto my Pandora station for him - So, what about him? " Our ", uh grandparents - Great-grandparents?:realmad: - got down to him. How does he seem today?
Apparently, especially in his younger years - So, the limitations of early recording (& modern-day philosophies on remastering them!!!!!!! could be a problem.
As late as the Seventies , cartoon-style Jolie references were a standard pop-culture joke...in the Eighties - Well, the Proclaimers made a reference to him#
The rather large elephant in the room is discussing Al Jolson - well. um, maybe we can avoid that elephant:confused:?

Brian Lux:
"I remember this one time when I was maybe 10, an Al Jolson started playing- I think it was on a movie on TV. This was many so I'm not not quiet sure but anyway, my mother started to cry. And then my father said something about remembering when he died in 1950 and mom really started bawling. And I'm sitting there watching this strange man with black paint all over his face crying "Mammy" and my mother is crying her eyes out and I'm feeling very uneasy and embarrassed about the whole thing. It's a weird memory."
Everything a SHiTE remembers either happened between the ages of 6 and 11, or when they discovered drugs.

Just ordered Domino’s pizza delivery and wondering whether the correct etiquette is to tip, let my 2 yr-old hug the delivery guy, or both?
