The smoking vs non-smoking argument starts again. But of course it does. Unless it doesn't and instead some other no-win-situation, knock-down, drag-em-out emotionally overcharged bit of empty nonsense captivates their attention first. [Mind you, if a work break-related issue at my place of work really struck me as something significant, I probably would raise it at my place of work. To my employer/supervisor/work colleagues, during working hours. At my place of work. In the context of resolving the situation in a way that would positively affect my work productivity through better work morale. At work. But not the denizens of Hooferville! Let's argue meaninglessly and yet pointlessly in the context of last week's arguments about minty power cables, who sang the 'Ahhhhs', poor pressings of bad vinyls [not a plural noun back in my day bucko] and they took forever to get here from Ernie B.'s via FedEx and I was watching through my curtains when my neighbour signed for my delivery aaaaarrrrrgghgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! And as if the Beatletards, homeless (or should be homeless) single fathers and career bagboys have work issues that 'smoke-break' rules could impact in any meaningful way. But hey it's their forum, not Ken Scott's! How did such gormless fuckwits assemble enough cash to assemble Hoofy's 30 pieces of banner-free silver?

At least they spelled "canon" correctly. That's beyond many there. First thing I thought of. (And, yeah, I know Peter Tosh could be a handful but that's just excessive.)

Everyone hates jewel cases now? (up to 7 pages) Not long ago, they hated digipaks, so who knows anymore.

We all hate those ear-hurting CDs. How dare they take them away from us?!?

Otherwise, the Japanese approach to rekkid and ceedee production seems really good to me, but those obi-strip things always seemed retarded. Impossible to store safely, always get ripped, and ultimately kind of pointless anyway. Why do they bother?
So, I presume that there would be an obi-strip tribute thread on Hooferville. Or several. I can only fucking imagine: "What's your favorite ultimate best obi strip, and it better be The Beatles!!!" (I'm not asking anyone to dig that up, either, honest.)

The obi strip has a purpose: to provide Japanese language information about the record. It is meant to be disposable, and, in Japan, usually is. It wasn't invented for SHite nerds to cream themselves over. The Western geek fetishization of the obi strip is, I think, hilarious. It is the equivalent of treating price tags or discarded Coca-Cola cans as precious objects. I only have a scant few Japanese CDs and I ditched the strip on all of them.

Lead guitars can be purchased but they are very heavy. They are made for heavy rock guitarists, like the Riffmeister, Tony Iommi.
