The argumentative anger and bitterness? Has to be a Strat Jangler sock puppet.

I didn’t realise what an artless dickhead he is, otherwise I wouldn’t have besmirched anyone here with such an accusation.

A lot of dipshits seem to think a song without lyrics is merely a track. What the fuck kind of technical music term is track? Dumbest comment in the first couple pages belongs to ianuaditis: "An instrumental performance of a song with lyrics that's meant to be sung is still a song I would say. Otherwise no. Green Onions is not a song, but Coltrane's My Favorite Things is." "Green Onions" isn't a song, but fucking "Zilchh" is? So Kind of Blue doesn't have any songs on it? Thank God for the first movement of A Love Supreme. I've read more evil things on there before, but this close minded stupidity is almost criminal. They don't deserve music. I'm going to go through my phone in the fucking ocean.

I get that technically a song is supposed to have singing, but fuck me. It’s like telling someone when they ask for a Kleenex “it’s a tissue!”. Talk about sucking the joy out of life.

Seriously, if ever there was a group of adults who need to get laid it is at Steve Hoffman Forum. I wish I had as much free time in my life to consider what is and what isn’t a song.

I'm truly embarrassed that I've let the SHiTEs get under my skin on this, but I get that songs traditionally have lyrics. It's just that preferring the term "track" is such consumerist squaresville bullshit. What band plays a track live? It's not how anybody thinks of music unless they have six pressings of the same 100 albums as their record collection. Tune, composition (or improvisation,) whatever. "Track" or "instrumental" just wreaks of only relating to music in recorded form, as if this us all about artifacts that get to me. I'll shut up about this...

It could be worse, they could be arguing that instrumental songs are called “sides” or “cuts”.
