Let me guess.......
"Drake who?" "Proud to say I've never heard of one of his songs" "Five minutes of fame only. Meanwhile everyone goes back to the Fabs!" "Only because the RIAA counts streaming. If we had counted radio plays back in my day the Fabs record would NEVER be broken!"

Now I want to break Beatles records. Well, why not? Drake did... When are these old fart SHiTEs gonna realize The Beatles, The Stones, The Who etc are all yesterday's news? Of course let's not forget about the undercurrent of "how dare that no talent darkie Drake break The Beatles' record" that must permeate that discussion as well, right? Assholes...

Truly hilarious that they’re whining about streaming being counted when the chart positions of the good old days were based on blow jobs, cocaine and envelopes full of cash.

Until I see some accurate sales data from Mr. Brian Epstein's NEMS emporium of Liverpool, there's no way I'm calling those Drake songs proper hits.

I really can't see how the charts of today can in any way equal the charts of 1964. If the Beatles and their impact of April 1964 existed in the technology and chart algorithms of today, there's a likely chance that the entire top 40 would be Beatles tracks. Every song the Beatles cut up to that point would be a potential chart listing, as opposed to the limitation of having a physically manufactured, two sided single to qualify for the list. Its no one's fault but the RIAA and the internet. Records were meant to be broken, but due to streaming, what actually qualifies as chart topping songs don't even have to qualify as a single or plays on the radio. Now the RIAA counts 150 listening to one song as a purchase so the charts will drastically change week by week depending on who released a new album and their promotion. However we know full and well Drake's lack luster album will never compare to any of the Beatles work. This Drake person, should I know who he or she is? He was in Paul Revere and the Raiders. Here comes the Grumpy Old Man, Again: IF these Top Five, or Top Nine, or Top Whatever Songs were actually physical singles, records that you could hold in your hand (pun intended), And the buyer actually had to run to a store to purchase, locate on the shelves, ask a clerk, etc IF so, THEN the Music Charts rankings and proclaimed Achievements from the current Age Of Digital Streaming are comparable to the Era Of Radio and Retail, and quite noteworthy. But fifty years between, they are not. We are talking apples and oranges. Billboard is being disingenuous, and misleading with their charts, in attempting to draw any comparisons. But, it looks fabulous as a headline, which of course, is Great marketing. Yesterday’s “Ed Sheeran” Is Today’s “Drake” Is Tomorrow’s __________ I think he's related to Donald Duck. Diminutive British comedian with a cheeky chappy everyman persona. 'You Never Know ' is a really great song, written for him by Peter Gabriel. What's Drakes most melodic tune? You know, something the public can sing decades from now. He has over 40 platinum to multi-platinum singles, so I'd imagine quite a few of them. But as far as a generally 'melodic' song, 'Hotline Bling' is up there since it's pretty much just a standard pop tune - I must've heard that one well over a hundred times in 2015-2016 as it was virtually everywhere for a while. He's decently versatile as an artist and has had elements of more standard hip hop, r&b, and trap. I must be super old. I just heard Hotline Bling and your quote seems...misleading. Is that how kids would define a standard these days? Interesting. Wasn’t he mentioned in a few Seinfeld shows? He sings? I have no idea who he is. I’m serious. And I really don’t care to know. Yes - that makes me an old geezer yelling at clouds and I’m fine with that. It’s far, far better than being an old geezer trying to stay hip. Spotify had Drake featured everywhere last week. He was their Recommended artist, so f you were listening to any genre, or randomly streaming you got a Drake song. That was borderline payola, and no doubt it had an impact on the charts. Upon further reflection, I take back all my snarky comments. I mean, the guy looks harmless enough. Beat me to it. Who the F is Drake and why should I care? I googled him. I got thru 13 seconds of one song, only because Olivia 13 from House was on it. A perfect example of why I detest most of what qualifies as the Top 40 now. Oh well. I still got my Bollywood and Bellydance 'lectronica!!! Lot of "Frank Sinatras circa 1957" commenting on this thread. Side note: Don't talk to anyone 20 years old about Drake & The Beatles unless you want to feel a million years old. Was this the guy that played the Superbowl last year? Becasue that guy sucked. He was a criminally overlooked singer/songwriter from the late Sixties/early Seventies. Looked remarkably like the guy in your profile picture, in fact. :righton: Don't feel bad, I have no clue who Drake is either........ The level of frustration and anger in threads like this is absolutely one of my favorite things about this forum, and JeatlePyle's current incarnation hasn't even shown up yet! *chef kiss* It's millenial music (in other words, crap). what's a drake? a male duck? I've never listened to a Drake song, but anything that gets the Beatles fanboys this upset pleases me. :edthumbs: I wouldn't know a Drake song if one was playing Well you can change the rules and have the record be broken regularly. All this guy did was release an album and all the songs hit the top of the charts. We've seen it recently from other acts too. That's a lot different than what the Beatles did. It's not even really comparable. So yes I would say there is fault for making it so easy. LOL "All this guy did was release an album and all the songs hit the top of the charts." Because that's just so easy to do. Hold on, I'm going to pull out Audacity today......stardom here I come! Yep and me. And no I'm not the Drake that's on the charts. As a millenial, our music does suck. I was born too late and my Ipod is a time machine. Is top 100 even relevant? and it just hasn't been the same since Josh left. Good for him. Looks like selling "Pink Moon" to Volkswagen has paid off nicely. I'm out of my depth here. These are the only Drakes I know : Can’t name one tune by him either And not one of them do I know! Is he that rapper guy who goes to all the Toronto Raptors games? His Boomerang won't come back: Wow, that guy from Uncharted is doing really well!

I refuse to believe that these fucking shutins don't know who the hell Drake is. If they really don't, each and everyone of these morons should blow their brains out on general principles.
Fuck me, how can somebody not know who Drake is?!

I remember back when he was on Degrassi. They tried to make his character a rapper and it was pretty cringey. Cut to a few years later and I see he's making music and I thought it was a joke at first.
Gonna listen to this now just to make up for reading all that SHITE.

I don't accept that version of Degrassi. The only true Degrassi has Spike.
