I refuse to believe that these fucking shutins don't know who the hell Drake is. If they really don't, each and everyone of these morons should blow their brains out on general principles. Fuck me, how can somebody not know who Drake is?! Especially given the push this album received. I saw headlines about paid Spotify subscribers asking for a partial refund because Drake was being shoved down their throats so hard. You’d have to be off the Internet and completely disconnected from media to not at least have a passing familiarity. Given how SHites wear ignorance about the modern world, especially if it involves youth, hip hop or African Americans, like a badge of honor, I call bullshit on these “I don’t even know what a Drake is” poats.

I’m going to go out on a BIG limb here and say that young people (in general) these days absolutely have no idea what good music is about. This doesn’t include all of them but MOST of them. At least that’s the way it seems to us old guys (I’m 50 btw). Let’s face it. We had Jimi, The Beatles, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, John Coltrane, and you guys have Drake and Rhianna (whoever she is). No contest. Until you young folks come up with somebody even half as good as say, Curt Cobain (and he’s not even the caliber of the people I just mentioned) - don’t try and tell me any different. That’s my old man rant and I’m sticking with it. Now excuse me, I have a Wilson Pickett 45 to pop on. Let’s see where he is 5 years from now and maybe I’ll be impressed. A huge amount of music today is disposable. A lot of artists from 5-10 years ago have already been forgotten. The Beatles are forever. His debut came out 8 years ago so he’s already passed your test. Ok, in a spirit of open mindedness I listened to a few of his cuts. IMO it sucks. There I said it. Wasn’t he mentioned in a few Seinfeld shows? He sings? Writing "Drake" and "Beatles" in the same sentence should be a crime They can't create anything, they just sample (stole). Objectively, this is the worst period in popular music ever So what's wrong with acting like our parents did? It's the normal thing when you reach certain age. Not to pretend you're a teenage kid when you're 40 in order to be "hip" Haha I see this is still going on. Hip hop is not music. No one plays instruments no one sings. Streaming is not akin to physical media sales. It is ridiculous to compare his “achievement “ to the pop culture earthquake the Beatles created.

I mean it’s not like hip-hop or streaming media have had any effect on pop culture at all.

Always a fave of mine.
Never mind that someone like RZA is more talented than Crosby, Stills, Nash and fucking Young combined.

I don't listen to the radio, don't watch any kind of music television and I don't do streaming but even I know who Drake is and I can at least name one song.
He ain't my cup of tea.
But I'll fight those old crackers over Janelle Monae, Wu-Tang and Talib Kweli any day.

Ive tried to get into Drake but he’s just too “hip hop lite” for me. Kendrick ruined everyone. It all pales in comparison. I think Kendrick does a better Drake than Drake does!
