David Bowie LOVING THE ALIEN (1983-1988)Looks like my predictions were *very* close, other than: 1 - I assumed that since every box set has so far been named after a deep cut, that this one would be too 2 - I assumed that since every box so far has been 13LP, that this one would be too 3 - I assumed they'd include the unreleased 'Dance' album in this box, but instead its just a double LP of most of the previously released on 12" vinyl Remixes/Dance mixes 4 - I assumed that to stick to 13LPs (in addition to 'Dance' being a single album) that ReCall would stick to 2LPs rather than 3LPs - and I'm definitely glad I was wrong on that prediction, since the extra LP allows for the soundtrack stuff which I was afraid would be dumped so they could keep the LP count at 13. Sometimes its awesome to be wrong! Outside of that, my predictions were right on the money: 2018's David Bowie box set 4: Dancing With The Big Boys? - (Speculation Thread)*Congratulations....I am sure your family and friends are very proud of you! :righton: Well given that the predictions thread ran for 33 pages and 804 messages, I have to admit that being probably (without rereading the entire thread to be 100% sure) the closest to correct is somewhat vindicating. Plus its hardly rocket science anyway. We've had three previous boxes from which to observe patterns in these releases. I must admit many of the predictions on that thread struck me as truly baffling/totally unprecedented - and what amounted to "wishful thinking"/"what people personally wanted the box to include", rather than realistic predictions of what it most likely/most logically would include.

I'm going to predict right now that the 20-Cee Dee Tin Machine box set will be called ASSHOLES WITH BUTTHOLES FOR THEIR BRAINS.

Other than getting all the big stuff wrong, he totally got it all right.

wildstar is easily one of the biggest assholes there. You got that right...all that motherfucker does is argue, and I will assume that that is how he is with everybody he encounters in real life as well. I pity his family, if he has any (unless they're all a bunch of fucking assholes like he is). Wildstar needs to stick both barrels of a shotgun in his yap and pull the trigger at the earliest opportunity.

As a rule one side goes to John and one side goes to Paul - the stronger (more hit-potential) song getting the A-side designation - or its made a double A if they (and Martin) couldn't decide. Not really- only eight of the 27 singles match that criteria! (And I cheated as one of them WAS a Double A). All the rest don't follow that idea A Hard Day's Night (John)/ Things We Said today (Paul) I Feel Fine (John)/ She's a Woman (Paul) Help! (John)/ I'm Down (Paul) Paperback Writer (Paul)/ Rain (John) Strawberry Fields (John)/ Penny Lane (Paul) Hello Goodbye (Paul)/ I Am The Walrus (John) Hey Jude (Paul)/ Revolution (John) Get Back (Paul)/ Don't Let Me Down (John) Where did I say every single time? I said "as a rule" (I suppose I should have gone to the trouble of saying "as a general rule" but hey - what can I say - I'm lazy. But if clarification is so desperately needed: Except in cases where the songs were co-written and/or co-sung by both John and Paul more or less equally, and also cases in which George got one side of the single (which IIRC happened 3 times) and Ringo got one side of a single (which happened once) the singles were mostly split one per writer/singer (when possible - the B-side of AYNIL was a co-write, though judging by the lead vocal much more of a John song than an equal co-write.) But hey they needed a B-side quick and that's what they had on hand. They weren't so fanatical about each getting one side of the single to delay/cancel the release of a single over it - especially one that had just been promoted in front of a worldwide/several million TV viewing audience, just to rigidly stick to their gentleman's agreement of splitting the single sides more or less even between themselves. OK? BTW taking a quick look at your list  What about Can't Buy Me Love (Paul)/You Can't Do That (John) Plus if you REALLY think for example 'We Can Work It Out' is not mostly a Paul song, or 'You Know My Name' is not mostly a John song - to name just two off the top of my head  Plus wasn't it 22 Beatles singles? Where do you get the 27 number?
