I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978 film)My wife Vickie and I saw this in the theater the other night. One of the Chicago radio film critics has a series where he shows a film once a month, and this summer has been devoted to the films of Robert Zemekis. The only two I've been home to see was Used Cars (still screamingly funny) and this one. It has a soundtrack that would be financially impossible to put together today, with wall-to-wall Beatles songs. The acting is pretty uneven, but Wendie Jo Sperber was hilarious, and Nancy Allen has a scene when she gets into the Beatles' hotel room that had me nearly rolling on the floor, I was laughing so hard. Anyone else remember this film? I was there, during scripting, etc. Robert and Bob's office was right next to the office I worked in at Uni. Read each script update, etc. They were very nice guys. Original working title: "Beatles 4 Ever." I have the final "Green Cover" shooting script, signed by all actors, main crew, Tami and Alex, Bob & Robert and SS, etc.

I've always wondered who they had based the film's dorky Beatard on. Guess we now know.

"Read each script update" = broke into the office after hours and rifled through drawers.
He hadn't perfected his sticky fingers process quite just yet.

Sounds like a menopausal old lie to me. Maybe he meant rifled through dumpsters?

He was at "Uni" in 1978? Wasn't he about thirty-two at the time?

STeVE's "industry titan" status stretches beyond his EQ consulting gigs. Here's an all-time classic... HoofManThe man is truly delusional. Without a doubt Hoofy suffers from VD: Vicodin Dreams.

STeVE's "industry titan" status stretches beyond his EQ consulting gigs. Here's an all-time classic... HoofManWithout getting too far down the rabbit hole, no you didn't. Arick found that print at Todd-AO and he thought it was a 70mm print of the International Version. It wasn't until they rented it out to a revival series and the print actually played in front of an audience did anyone realize they were watching the pre-release workprint that tested so poorly and caused WB to have Ridley Scott revamp the film. Arick found the print and, though it inspired the 1991 Director's Cut of Blade Runner, the print itself isn't a "DIRECTOR'S CUT" as a cineaste like STeVE should know. It's been a while since I've ready Future Noir, where the accidental discovery of this workprint is documented, but I don't remember STeVE's name being mentioned (nor do I remember Liz Taylor's, through she had been married to Michael Todd. I can't imagine she would have had anything to do with this personally even if she did have a financial stake somehow.)

STeVE spends more time writing his bullshit anecdotes than he ever did working on any project.
