Fuckin’ ergonomics, how do they work? Edit in: He’s such a baby. History of the LP plus MP3: - 2006, an indie label starts including digital downloads with vinyl records to stop the bleeding of people downloading MP3s for free to put on their iPods instead of buying CDs. This value added sales pitch works, other labels — indies and majors alike — follow suit, indirectly leads to an increase in vinyl sales. - Mid 2010s:With the phasing out of iPods/rise of streaming, people continue to buy records, but the free downloads stop getting used. Labels see it as an expense not really driving vinyl sales any longer, and labels start dropping the practice. Dilly in 2024: “Why would labels cheapen the more expensive LP by giving away vapourware? It cuts into Quboz sales! I am really smart! Ergonomics! Pomplamoose!”

There's a download card in Mitski's latest album, on Dead Oceans. I think it's actually FLAC, would have to check on it. Maybe Phoebe Bridgers and Khruangbin, also on Dead Oceans, still do it. Again, I'd have to check.

I see he was able to get his mid-month refill of pain killers.

Again, I'd have to check. Dead Oceans/Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar still does it (I was surprised to find a card in the recent Slowdive LP), Domino still does it, Sacred Bones was still doing it but the Xmal Deutschland collection they just put out didn’t have a card so I don’t know if they stopped. But in 2020, Sub Pop, Matador, 4AD and many other large indies just dropped it. I admit that I was part of the problem in that I never used the cards unless I had a shitty pressing of a record, but I wish they kept doing it because there’s nothing worse than getting stuck with an LP with an unlistenable amount of surface noise or huge scratch through one song. I bought a Sleaford Mod LP in 2021 that I can’t even listen to the A side of (B side is perfectly pressed), so I’ve stopped buying Beggars/4AD/Matador records entirely because of no more free downloads (I’m not an American, so Amazon auto-rip and the obscene postage rates to buy through Bandcamp are non-starters as workarounds).

What a moron. Ergonomic is about creating workplaces that meet workers' physical needs, like footrests, those desks you can stand at, etc. From the Greek words for work and law.
I guess Dildo thinks yakking on a website is work.

One of the Bridgers albums, Punisher, has a DL card. Stranger In The Alps doesn't. Khruangbin's The Universe Smiles Upon You has one, but it's not on Dead Oceans. Leave it to Dilly to make a reference to Who Moved My Cheese?

I still can't figure out why Ariel Stream wasn't a massive success given the superior musical tastes of its' programmer.
Quoting our favorite human penis-head:
It’s not a radio station; it’s more like…a message in a bottle.
We don’t “Soft Rock”; we don’t “Lite Rock”; we don’t “alt Rock”, or “Pop Rock”, or even “Sweater Rock”. Fact is, we don’t rock at all. We just…don’t.
Cutting-edge music…without the “cutting edge”!
A whole new world of music to discover…in YOUR comfort zone!
Let Ariel Stream take you down the road not taken; up the scenic route; through the secret passageway…ANY way, but the mainstream…!
