Johnny Reb, who pretends to be a 17-year-old, has listed his Top 100 albums. As you might expect from a 17-year-old, they include albums by Supertramp, Kris Kristofferson, Marty Robbins, the Dave Brubeck Quartet and REO Speedwagon.

Among the first to congratulate Johnny on his precocious tastes are a SHite who's pretending to be an 18-year-old and another SHite who's pretending to be a 19-year-old. Unless of course they're all the same SHite, which is a definite possibility.

Haha, I’m one year older than you and I just like two of the albums you listed (Adele and Dusty’s) lol
Re Kris Kristofferson, I haven’t listened to that album but my favorite version of Me & Bobby McGee is Janis Joplin’s.
Edit: Your list is diverse. I like that :righton:

I'm not being funny, there are some great albums there, but at 17 do you ever listen to anything rebellious or raucous? It's absolutely fine if you don't, you obviously have good taste, I just wondered.

Interesting question! I've never really thought about it, but I guess not. I mean, I certainly like some harder rock (like Rush's Counterparts), and the lyrics of people like Tori Amos can be quite edgy, but other than that, such music doesn't connect with me really.

Great list, Thanks for sharing!
Now, when I post my next opinion here about what I think “Today’s Kids Are Listening To...”,
I can just say, with factual authority:
“In 2018, the favourite artists amongst teenagers are The Moody Blues, Simon & Garfunkel, and Tom Petty !”

There is no Prince in your list. You need to rethink it.

Nice list. But how the heck does a 17-year old of today get turned on to stuff like the Statler Brothers?

As I mentioned, this site has actually been a huge help. My Dad's CD collection started me off, and having fun doing lots of research and going to a lot of yard sales helped a lot. Still, it's a work in progress!
