If it was Magnet & Steel, that’s a decent song but I don’t know anything else about him other than he joined The Flying Burrito Brothers many years after any of the key members were around - maybe in the 90s or 2000s.

It was Say You Will (which is also the name of a Fleetwood Mac album but a different song).

So the lesson is that it's easier to remove a pedophile from a Kate Bush recording than it is to remove a pedophile from SH.tv. Haha, that sounds like it came from one of the 4 Shite gospels (according to Gtnr, MyKKKe Klaus and Brad). The Hoffa sermon on the mount? Ah, yes. Tnarg 1:5 "And I say unto thee, thou shalt not speaketh thy reason why, for thou shalt get thy thread closed, but thy all knoweth WHY thou truly has disdain for thy disco music"

It’s so very tempting to start a thread or comment over there about the generally problematic nature of Histoire de Melody Nelson (essentially a concept album about a middle aged man seducing an underage girl, doncha know), just to see the reaction. But then I remembered these pig ignorant fuckers can barely speak one language let alone another (it’s even in the rules that only English is allowed) so they wouldn’t have a fucking clue. For the record, I still play that album even though it is very creepy. Please excuse the lateness of my reply. It's interesting that you mention this album, because the actual subject matter seems to be given a free pass in every review I've ever seen. I have a friend who absolutely hates pedophiles with a passion but who idolizes Serge Gainsbourg. Presumably the relatively low age of consent in France probably means that old Serge wasn't breaking any French laws, but obviously he was still old enough to be the girl's father. I suppose that Serge was so outrageous and provocative for his whole life that he couldn't be said to have been hiding a dark side, and he just went from outrage to outrage as his career rolled on. I have to say that although I have listened to Histoire de Melody Nelson a few times, I wasn't aware of the back story of the album - I didn't know it was based on a true story. Although the girl on the front cover looks underage, I knew that it was Jane Birkin, who was of legal age (about 25), so I just assumed general weirdness. I mean Serge and Jane were basically fucking on many of their recordings (eg, Je T'Aime). Since I've learned what the album is actually about it is quite astonishing that its content has has totally flown under the radar despite the music apparently being very influential on Beck, Portishead et al. The only things the fucking SHites would find problematic about the album are: 1. It is in French 2. Serge was having sex with a non-inflatable woman.

I’m surprised Rock Around The Bunker isn’t more popular with a particular demographic of Hoofy’s followers…

I’m surprised Rock Around The Bunker isn’t more popular with a particular demographic of Hoofy’s followers… Well, it’s written and performed by some guy named Lucien Ginsburg.

Why is it that Histoire de Melody Nelson is the only Serge Gainsbourg record the Anglo-American audience even knows? Well, that and "Je t'aime… moi non plus." These are not even anywhere near the best Serge Gainsbourg records. I can only guess that the Anglo-Americans only like what they perceive to be novelty songs by a paedophile? It's no Aux armes et cætera, that's for sure, but French reggae is clearly an ethnic bridge too far for an audience that only gave a shit about Jane Birkin humping a creepy French dude. Don't forget Serge's Lemon Incest - recorded with his underage daughter. That's probably due for a critical reassessment any day now.
