LC2A3 started the thread "Steve Guttenberg: Are Mastering Engineers Overrated?"

Just watched his video and I tend to agree somewhat. If the recording is competently mic'd and mixed well, a mastering engineer, regardless of skill level, is not gonna have much impact on the recording itself. That's why they weren't credited during the golden age of hi-fi, it was a straight forward profession.

Ask any musician/band about STeVE. Many of them would answer: Who the hell are them?
